Yep and ESG like every other new buzz, is getting hyped and there will be winners and losers initially then settles down into mainstream... some will make a packet, some will lose a packet- those who want to take the most risk will get either, and the majority will get somewhere in between...

Yep- but this always occurs- like the .com boom. There will be losers at the start but look at the market cap of so many tech companies that were spawned around that time. Crypto initial craze happened years ago- now more and more respected organisations are on board, this is ever increasing - regulation has started, causing more rise in prices, it’s not a case of either or… I’ve already stated where my crypto investments are- you have to balance your risk in that class too- just like with gold stocks, I don’t only invest in CEY. I have zero emotional attachment in any of my investments and they don’t emotionally invest in me- if I were in the inside of the companies, that would be different

No one is denying stocks and property and other assets have value, it’s key to have balance on one’s portfolio

ESG stocks are a very big threat to PM stocks and yet never mentioned. Gold mining scars the earth for bling- this is an extreme view of course, but gold is a finite "natural resource" and ESG are gaining ground massively, a big threat.

Fanatic risk taking? What are gold stocks? All on the same spectrum, you make it sound like crypto is something new, it's another method, and more new methods will come around.
Since the dawn of time people have gambled... now crypto, gold, shares, houses etc etc... the desire to make easy money and not have to do manual labour to earn money will always exist and humans will constantly invent new ways of doing this. The most popular ones are ones that have a hook to something else, eg you need to live somewhere so need a home, you need to common methods of payment (and lessen the cost of the intermediaries), and people like nice things to demonstrate their wealth and demonstrate this. This is why I decide on balance.

Yep Canetoad, I mentioned this a while ago :-). I still think gold has legs though, it's not, for sure, an either or. It does feel like it's trying to break out, which is why I keep my CEY and POLY for now.
Fingers crossed for all here, PMs are still generally way undervalued... for now...

I'm not increasing my position, as my most highest risk asset, seconded by gold stocks (less risk). I only back the main cryptos, I certainly see 100k in the near future. I am also prepared for it to drop of a cliff, as got in early- although this is less likely day by day. I recall arguments with people when it was 3k, "couldn't possibly double from here, way to high now" etc etc... I've posted the reasons before why I continue to hold cryptos, and this remain, and get stronger as the days pass. The big drop in XRP for example, the biggest crash on my portfolio, soon bounced, despite the dire news. If you believe in the tech, understand it (it's not that hard), then take your choice. I heard an investment chap only yesterday stating that also crypto mining is using up a lot of energy, they were already in the throes of tapping into overflows of sustainable energy produced in Africa. Like all electrical devices, computers don't need fossil fuels.

Yep and stated in the RNS on 14th aug so irrelevant now in terms of sp. In fact the sp rose up until mid sept on the back of the RNS and normal sp movements

All I know is that I’d be shelling out about £30k net pa and only increasing to live where I live now - now that would be some debt! We’re on a gold mining forum and questioning whether buying a house is a risk lol!

It’s a no brainer to buy- helped my son buy a property recently- 50% cheaper than his rent would have been and in 25 years the house is his so rent free. Told him to rent out a room if mortgage rate go nuts which they won’t for years- 600% profit for me in 25years- have the house and if I had to rent it would cost me about 2,500-3,000 per month- glad I didn’t to all the doom mongers in the mid 1990s lol. Oh plus zero capital gains tax on your own primary property - total no brainer-
