Highlights From WH Ireland’s Report18 Mar 2024 08:38
For anyone who hasn’t taken the time to look. Here are a few highlights from WH Ireland’s recent report.
Experienced management team.
DG's recent appointments to the Board bring a wealth of experience in the EV market, not only at Tesla, but also at a number of start-ups within the space. We view the recent Board appointments as a key catalyst for the group, providing credentials likely to enhance both commercial development and DGI's ability to fundraise.
Market leader in specialist niche with strong entry barriers
Advanced, innovative expertise makes DGI a market leader in the specialist field of electric drive technology, while the company is also inventor of a novel, environmentally friendly material for sodium-ion batteries. Working prototypes have shown strong performance relative to existing best-in-class electric motors and drives, featuring key advantages. We view these novel products as exceptionally well-aligned to the requirements of the client base, which needs replacements for existing technology that will be aligned to the "Green Transition" (e.g. scrapping diesel and ultimately all ICE vehicles).
Very sizeable markets
DGI's quality technology lays open to it multi-billion £ markets in EVs (heavy vehicles in particular) through its electric drives, and also (sodium-ion) in energy storage as well as (substituting for lithium) in automotive applications. These markets are underpinned by
"Road to Zero" statutes from the UK government, which, in common with European governments, has legislated to switch from fossil fuel to EVs over the next two decades.
We view numerous OEMs in DGI's target markets as being plausible or likely adopters of its technologies. Given the regulatory timetable and the cost benefits, the opportunities to retrofit in the truck, bus and similar markets would appear to be vast.
