If the US stops this then the next best thing would be to reduce debt. The oil companies like BP are gambling with their future if they do not ease debt. They would rather maintain divis or prop up their share price.
Q2 anybody. I asked last night but politics had taken everyone's attention.
When are the 2nd quarter results out.

@Mandrill
Well done. You beat me to it.
I came on here to read about Lloyds and why the price is rising. Not a mention. Can LSE set up a political board.
Welcome to the club.
It took 9 months to move from Barc to iweb (Halifax/ Lloyds). Good luck. I had to make all the calls and reminders etc, etc,.
Maybe switch to LLoyds shares. I have thought they are a much stronger long term bet. Like me, we are locked in unless we are prepared to make a loss. I bought 550000 shares at 66.5 p.
@snige Oh, I forgot those Bolshovik/ Stalinist Russians. Thank you for pointing that out.
Britain was happily minding its own business trading with the world until confronted by the despotic Germans a couple of times in the early half of the last century. It was a nasty business leaving many dead defending the democratic free world. Fortunately with the help of the USA and the Commonwealth, we won. Britain, heavily weakened, nevertheless, hung around and helped forge a new stable Europe. Roll on seventy years, the Europeans have finally come of age with the hungry cheating Germans leading the way and their scheming French neighbours hanging on for what scraps their master cannot consume. So now is the time for Britain to do what is best for her which is to forge new relationships in the world . This will be an independent Britain free of the EU shackles that have ensnared her since then.. This will be a mercantile Britain surviving on the ingenuity and wit that had helped create the first industrial revolution. With our meritocratic values and our creative people , Britain can come of age and start a new revolution. By doing so this will eventually result in the disintegration of the EU superstate and the creation of truly independent free nations mirroring the freedoms that we have fought for. Come on LLoyds. I am stuck at 66.47.
Thanks volcano
Just read an earlier post which explains it.
Is anyone having problems with their share prices. Mine is stuck on 63.68
It wouldn't surprise me that once tha LB lawyers have done their investigations, that Blobby's case might not be quite so watertight. I used to like listening to him on Capital Radio in the 70's as a naive school boy, but now he just makes me cringe .
@freya LLoy happens to be my favoured stock and I only bet one way so i have had to learn to pick my moments otherwise I languish for months on end, but it all comes good in the end.
Well, you have just had 1% wiped off in the last 30 mins.
@ manash you must be wondering why the sudden drop in LLOY in the last 45 mins. So am I
I am a novice but i guess the brokers are now pushing ITV for good reason.
Nag or not, Clarkson may have the right appeal for the format to work. Myself, I think he has appeal and ITV could create something new around him although he has that Marmite attraction.
