Part of me thinks few synergies certainly in terms of direct suppliers...but you could have shared HR, payroll, IT, indirect procurement but I think power systems could and should be very highly profitable and allows a total RR solution for say marine..you get a RR gas turbine for high speed and MTU diesels for cruising...a one stop shop so to speak. Caterpillar and Cummins do very nicely selling diesel engines thank you very much and MTU has a great reputation. I guess like the rest of RR they need to improve efficiency

I was thinking the same thing Alan..I'll do you all a deal, I'll sell my SYN shares on the understanding that you pay me via crowdfunding for the massive profits you make the day after ive sold..classic win win. I'll then tell you who I've invested my SYN money in so you can then short them as a brucie bonus.

Why are we having such a news blackout here do you think..are we waiting for improved flow rates out of c77 or news on a JV or both? BOIL is simply waiting news on a JV but the sense of excitement is palpable and relatively large SP action over the last few days..why is SYN such a damp squid when SYN should be a lot easier proposition engineering, time and cost wise. I don't get it.

That aside, I can't wait until Tuesday's RNS of the Q3 results and to hear what Tufan has to say.

I did the same with LGEN, a huge dividend but it will take 4 or 5 years of dividend reinvestment to get back what I've lost in capital. All my shares are in the doldrums apart from RR but I pound cost averaged RR starting early 2020 whereas the others I bought in large chunks 'surely it can't fall further' type logic. Investing a small or set amount every month over a long time is the way to do it IMHO. Onto dividends , I totally don't want a poxy £20 every quarter or whatever I want RR to pay down their debts as soon as humanly possible.

Hi RonR, RR aren't allowed to pay dividends under the agreements they have with their loan providers. I don't see dividends until 2025 but I strongly suspect the results on the 28th to be better than forecasts. I don't want them paying divs until most of the debt is paid off.

Hi pumpky, well the last PQ runs looked like they were interspaced 3 to 4 weeks according to RNS dates. Surely having done them before and only fairly recently they shouldn't take much longer?

What's to stop GE putting their prices up if they think RR are out of the Thai order? I would if I were GE...Rolls-Royce cannot and should not be trying to win business at wafer thin margins.

We absolutely do not want Thai's order if it doesn't make us money in the short to medium term.

I would say very very very unlikely it will see £1.50 again barring a catastrophe. The Q3 results will smash expectations and RR will soon (in 1 or 2 years time') have the greater majority of the debt paid down...after that they'll have so much money they won't know what top do with it lol

I would counter with a) RR now being run like a business and not a charity b) huge upswing in flying hours c) massive defence contract wins in the US (b52 and FLRAA) d) AUKUS sub deal e) SMR potentials f) RRs cost cutting g) Finances improving every day. I think the Q3 2023 numbers are going to be knockout and I expect a bump in SP 28th nov
