Very true sparkel_and_fizz, that would be a game changer , but over the years that I've been in here all the good news prior to RNS has been accurately predicted and it's usually resulted in a sp drop once confirmed. I've got my fingers crossed this time and ive made a sacrificial offering to the golden flip-flop in the hope that it brings good news.
I've always been of the opinion that the court case has been used by Centamin as a security fence, stopping any potential hostile takeovers while it was in it's early development stages. Some of the majors with dwindling reserves would have loved to pick this up on the cheap!
Hi Tibbs, I came across this yesterday by Rick rule from sprotglobal. I don't think that this is the same gold backed crypto that your referring to but the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. Each new one will hopefully loosen the grip of the paper market. https://youtu.be/KtFKPOByEAk
I'm with you on this one, Josef has been instrumental in getting this mine to where it is today given the complex cultural and political problems that exists in Egypt but I think that it's taken it's toll on him and his desire to start another mine had been put out. He's done all the ground work and now it just needs some one with the ambition to put a shovel in the ground and get on with it. So I'm getting very hopefull of some good news soon.
I can only echo all the comments below. You helped me keep my nerv during the dark days of the court case and revolutions to which I will be eternally greatfull. Keep up your good work and please don't be a stranger to this board pop in from time to time to let us know how you're getting on. Good luck Spot64
We have to remember as Cowichan pointed out, that the resorce update and 20 + year mine life is only referring to the 3km square area currently being mined and that it dosent include the 160km outside of this. Who knows what what the reserves will be when Egypt finally sorts out law32 and Centamin get the green light to develop it.
On this board were very fortunate to have members with a considerable amount of knowledge and some with contacts in all the right places, so we often know things before its official. However you could say that it's a bit like finding your Christmas present early as a kid, you know what your getting so there's no surprise and no big reaction on the day. One last thing if Centamin Egypt were to build a second mine in Africa would they have to drop the word Egypt?

Spare a thought for this poor bloke who accidently threw out a hard drive with 7400 bitcoins on it in 2013 which would now be worth £52,502,112 million! Anyone up for a spot of digging? Could put a new meaning to the word mining bitcoins. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-25134289
Ray Dalio Goes On Gold Buying Spree, Adds 575% To GLD Holdings, Becomes 8th Largest Holder. As a result of the surge in holdings, Bridgewater as of this moment, is the 8th largest holder of paper gold, known as GLD. And now that Ray Dalio is rapidly buying up GLD, IAU and other gold holdings, we wonder how long before the momentum chasers send gold, both paper and physical surging, and whether this shift in momentum could potentially impact the ongoing surge in bitcoin. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-11-13/ray-dalio-goes-gold-buying-spree-adds-575-gld-holdings-becomes-8th-largest-holder Apologies if this has already been posted.
I see you're point, but could it be more to do with not showing how strong a hand they have. For what reason I don't know ? Perhaps for politically sensitive reasons over the last couple of years? or Emma's auctions? predatory company's ? who knows, but as a glass half full person I'm going with the belief that it's going to be a good one when it's finally recoverd from the back of the filling cabinet and dusted off.
