Jotom, long is a trading terms basically meaning I hold shares or another instrument hoping they will increase in value. It's the opposite of short which means selling borrowed shares and hoping they will go down in value. This has nothing to do with the duration of the holding. I am not kidding when I say you shouldn't be here, you are totally out of your depth. I'm not going to discuss this with you further you should lurk here instead of posting and probably seek out a professional financial advisor
