by 2015 foreign trucks entering Britain will be charged a fee of £10.00 a day. What is needed is a level playing field. It is a shame though they are trying to build it on the side of a cliff. The road haulage industry in Britain is a shadow of its former self and thousands of British drivers have lost their jobs as a result of poor policing and policies.
I spent 30 years in haulage and got out before the whole thing became a waste of time. I have never regretted it.
Going abroad especially to Germany France of Italy was nightmare and tolls, tank shines and police wanting bribes was all just part of the day. Now we have foreign trucks with poorly paid drivers living for weeks in their cabs and contributing nothing to our road maintenance, taxes, and welfare... Thanks Min of Tran.. You are and always will be... W......rs
