yes, that’s a good question leno. i think it’s a problem for EUA’s BoD.

bear in mind, EUA doesn’t need to convince potential placees that the underlying assets are genuinely very valuable, or even that they will be able to sell an asset.

they just need to convince a funder that the funder will be able to make a profit, for example by flipping placing shares quickly into a market with decent liquidity and a buoyant share price. (i think that’s exactly what happened to those placing shares back in the 20s.)

the risk for EUA if they don’t manage to raise cash soon isn’t that they will have immediately run out of cash and will need to close down in april. (… from memory, i think they’ve indicated before that they may have enough cash to last until circa august/sept ‘25?)

rather, their problem is that in order to get the full year accounts signed off in summer, **the auditors will need to be shown realistic evidence that EUA will have sufficient cash available over the next 12 months** from that point (12, not 6), to meet their liabilities as those fall due.

so if EUA fail to raise cash in Q1/25, they could still try to raise more cash in april or may. but as the clock ticks on, the big snag is that any prospective funder will know that the time is running out for the company, and will be able to impose increasingly worse rates/conditions, because they would have EUA’s BoD utterly over a barrel with no butter to hand.
