Problem is the tax liabilities, CGT must be paid on profits. Britannias carry no such liabilities. Price today from Bullion vault for 1 charlie is £1612, Chards £1583. Hi Culpepper. I am compelled to question your posts. The new BRICS currency will certainly not be "something akin to the Euro". The Euro is a FIAT currency backed by diddly squat whereas the new currency will be redeemable for physical gold. You may also of noticed that the speed of change in the world has sped up since the £ went digital an the Euro took so long because of the dithering bureaucracy. Hi Culpepper. Mainstreet is too busy showing off movie stars and royalty stories. If the citizens of the UK really understood what has and is happening there would be civil unrest on a scale not seen before now. The GBP along with the UK economy is in such a bad state i fear for our once great country. Inflation is not an increase in costs but a reflection of the depreciation of the £. Gold will be needed in the future to facilitate trade for commodities and we have none thanks to our brain dead politicians. I personally have plenty and intend to add as i see fit. ATB Speedy

Hi All. Just for clarity it will be an ingot not a coin. The premium for a small run of coins is massive but for an ingot it is only about 4% above spot on the day of purchase. There will be no limit on purchases. I did mention on here about forward purchasing 250 ozs to lock in todays price but received no response, When i first mentioned forward purchasing we could have secured a price of around £230/oz less than todays cost and it will probably be a lot higher in 2024. I must assure you that you are not completely mad and the first pour 1oz ingot (the coin option was dropped when i saw the costings from the Perth mint on a small run) is still very much in play. The design has been made and production costings are around 4% above spot. I have not yet started a list as it is too early and SD suggested we leave it until a bit nearer first pour date.
