Hi All. things are getting really interesting in the gold space. yields on gov bonds are breaking out to the upside all over the world and the POG has reacted with a measly (approx) $50/oz pullback. If the "expert economists" are listened to then the POG should have fallen through the floor and back to $1500/oz, but no, the money of kings has held on to the gains over the last few years and looks to be returning to mainstream with the BRICS intending to create a new gold backed trading framework.

With the amount of deficit spending by debt laden govs the interest payable will soon become unsustainable and central banks will only have 2 options ,default or inflate away the debt. Either option is a disaster for fiat currencies.

Hi All. Unfortunately, until our country is led by real thinkers and forward looking choices are made we will be looked upon as a "has been country". I think Forrest is absolutely correct in his stance against fossil fuels and any deviation away from ridding the planet of this form of energy creation is to be stamped on. Hi Culpepper. It is happening already. Saudi is accepting gold for oil via China. The fall in purchasing power of fiat (inflation) is driving commodity rich nations to look for an alternative. The USA using the $ as a weapon has backfired and driving central banks in emerging markets to divest $s and buy gold.

It is my view that the process will accelerate and gold miners will benefit sooner than expected. My crystal ball does not give me a time frame just a view of what is coming. ATB Speedy

Hi Ace. The big problem with answering that question is the diff between value and price. Using fiat as a bench mark is becoming more and more ridiculous as the banks just create more and more of the stuff. When (not if) an new world currency comes into play and is partly backed by physical gold the value of that gold will have to rise to accommodate trade. Using oil and other commodities as a bench mark would make more sense. If there is hyperinflation (total collapse) of fiat (guaranteed) then the POG in $ would be $millons /oz.

Countries that export commodities will not want $s only a currency redeemable for gold.

The companies that mine the stuff are going to benefit from that coming event. ATB Speedy
