The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
BP. I had at a substantial loss. Bought back in now to try to recoup losses!
What about you BP? What are your 60K shares worth now?
I must admit I can't figure out why you keep knocking the the company here?
Bubble. If HARL multi bags from current SP...................I and many other LTH might just break even!
I stand corrected Chitta. Memory like a Swiss cheese!
Citta123. I don't think anyone purchased any data. The data was well known since 1981.
Google: Larne No. 2 Borehole and check for references to Halite (salt).
Spud. I'm surprised with all your previous interest, input and investment here that you'd say that.
Gaelectric was a completely different company/project. I'm sure BP was the investor that brought forward the first borehole.

Looking good for IM with gas or hydrogen......

Anyone care to speculate who, besides the GM and handful of new apprentices, will be performing the required work?
An informative article and pics. Let's hope the new chairman will be more visible and influential than CR has been.

Only when the government feels the financial shock to the economy and the wrath of its voters will it finally change its mind on gas storage.

My first post here as everyone seems to have made the switch.
Looks like UK lack of gas storage is becoming "front and centre".......
https://amp.theguardian.com/business/2021/sep/24/how-uk-energy-policies-have-left-britain-exposed-to-winter-gas-price-hikes
I'm well aware of that Stokey. I'm speaking in generalities of the powers that be..........thanks.
I'm seeing more articles, all highlighting lack of gas storage. Let's hope this "turns the lights on" in the minds of the UK Gov!

The article clearly outlines the shortcomings of UK gov policy regarding Rough closure and no new storage. Energy security surely must be refocused now that MR Putin is tightening the screws. Let's see how this plays out this winter. What about next winter??
In hindsight, assuming IM was built and functioning, anyone care to speculate what sort of revenue/profits would be generated this winter?
OT. The article states:
As part of the project, the FPSO will undergo maintenance work at the Bull Arm Fabrication site starting early September prior to sailing to dry dock in Ferrol, Spain, later this year with a return to operations anticipated before the end of 2022.
That does not indicate to me any involvement with HARL. unless Navantia wishes to share the pie? Pity, as I also hoped of potential HARL involvement, when posting about this previously.
the future looks very rosy as soon as Harl win their first floating platform contract. JW was right to go for the large manufacturering footprint.

When will UK Gov wake up...........Mr Poots take note!
Taken from this evenings article on the Guardian website:
Britain is one of the most vulnerable countries in Europe to gas-supply disruptions due to its high reliance on gas for heating and power plants. It has also had some of Europe’s most limited gas-storage capabilitiessince the 2017 closure of the Rough gas storage site, previously the country’s biggest, off the east coast .
