The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
my mate owns a calor gas distribution center, having a beer with him over the weekend he tells me that its been the busiest year they have had in decades the prolonged cold spell has seen them taking on extra staff paying overtime and opening longer hours to cope i am sure the same result will come from centrica, begning of May for an update i note that Ian Conn has purchased lots of shares in the past few months GLA
all the more reason to buy the company and sell it off in piece parts 1.50 is my target
this company has struggled for years a take over and break up of the company would be the best choice dividends are non existent management make poor decisions does anyone know what the offer price was 1.50 a share would be acceptable for me to get out of this pile of crap
i am invested very heavily here i do reckon that buyers with a 1-3 month window will not make a huge return however if you are prepared to have patience then 12-18 months this will return phenomenal growth in comparison to the market if world growth continues then we will see the return of $90 a barrel and goodness knows where PVR will be then this is probably the most exciting times the company has and will ever have GLA
the higher the oil price the more attractive to investors JV is on its way cairn being the likely contender
http://interfaxenergy.com/gasdaily/article/29988/european-gas-stocks-low-as-colder-weather-looms another few weeks of cold weather and i can see major gas problems for UK and the rest of Europe this has been one of the coldest winters with such a long period sustained low temperatures, now Centrica stated that the main reason for the profit warning was due the warm weather last year, i was playing golf last march in a T shirt this year so far i have not managed a game through course closure and its just to bloody cold
a buy on barc cfd spread betting the goal the company is not valuable enough onwards and upwards 2.50 coming very soon
I was able to buy PVR last week on my Barc cfd account not any more is this because the barc have more than 3% of the holding or is the company not valuable enough to be on the barc list
as the MPs always have there own mindsets then do you think they have created a plan which would reduce the valuation of the utility companies in the UK making them vulnerable to take over by there European counterparts which offsets some of the brexit issues by giving more back to Europe GLA
The demand for gas in Jan Feb and so far into March has been around 20% higher than the average over the past few years, every supplier should be making a substantial profit due to the increase in demand over the past couple of months, the cold spell is due to continue into the second half of March at least. this along with record new homes coming on stream then i would expect very positive news flowing from the top energy suppliers over the coming weeks and months http://mip-prod-web.azurewebsites.net/PrevailingViewGraph/ViewReport?prevailingViewGraph=ActualDemandGraph&gasDate=2018-03-13
onward an upward
mates to buy 500000k purchase big rise coming this afternoon i guess
of shares being sold, the good thing is that you can only sell if there is a demand
phoebus i totally agree price rise yesterday was some folks loading up who are in the know, i would expect the same today towards the end of the day there is also the possibility of new this afternoon which would be clever move, people who have a genuine interest would be able to top up before the metaphoric rise on Monday as this would be all over the press GLA
bronx have you sold out then
I would expect this to reach 16 -18 later today bit of a nervous start but leakage of news out in the field i guess this will follow the chart from yeaterday GLA have a drink in the Irish ps they may as well celebrate oil revenue cause they are gonna get humped at the rugby on saturday
