I think the reversal is true. Excessive privatisation means the public pay for the private sector. Britain exports services, nothing of real value. We now rely on those financial services and because of the sell offs, we're tied to them more than we should be. We have no bargaining power as demonstrated by EU negotiations.

Steel, we sold out are manufacturing ( turned out well for Germany) out agriculture to France and out fisheries to Spain. In return we got the financial industry. My old Union had John McDinnel as a member. I was a rep for the RMT. The RMT and some other unions are anti EU. People like Len McCluskey of UNITE are perceived as part of the establishment and their views should be treated as such. The true Union movement and socialist advocate leaving the EU.
