Dirkus - AS had already said several times that our institutional investor was Ruane... bit of Very easy research links them to Sequoia Fund. I felt the question you refer to was either a trick question or a thick question...
Dirkus - well it isn’t the one that invests in Apple and Google. It’s Sequoia Fund which is directly linked to Ruane. The question was poor as it was “is it Sequoia...” AS said yes... whilst the interviewer was still finishing the question then mentioned Apple. No mention of google.
https://www.ruanecunniff.com/homeRuane manages the Sequoia Fund and nothing to do with Sequoia Capital. See their website above. Not sure why people are still not getting this...
AS was asked about “Sequoia” it was a very poor question as it wasn’t specific to either or...
What is can see here is that we have a very large number of very tetchy private investors that have only recently entered the stock game. Maybe they are on furlough and replaced their footy accumulators with a punt on Avacta. Unfortunately the results don’t come thick and fast like footy so they are getting increasing jittery as the hours pass. I totally understand. Hopefully when the footy comes back they can move on and get another hobby. On a personal note I’m in with an average of 1.38 so currently running a loss. It doesn’t bother me as I’m comfortable with the recent news flow and confident this is a business worth investing in for the long term. The pure covid play is absolutely still there imo - there is a mountain of evidence and sure signs that Avacta are super confident in their product. The newbie investors getting the jitters are just giving me an opportunity to lower my average so the recent drops are all good... topping up again today!
