Just read through the city am article. That should be done anyway without the need of taking a stake in the Company. FFS it the Goverments job to promote British Companies.

Eventually the Government will own the SMRs, so they should be putting money in up . RR never had a desire to own the plants, they are going to be a Contractor to the Govermnent, just like in the submarine bussiness.. I'm not sure where taking a stakehold in the Company comes into it.

Sorry, you missed my point. Using that logic maybe they should move all manufacturing abroad then. Make more profit. But then again, they'll be plenty of guys in Derby thanking them for taking their jobs away and making them unable to pay their mortgage or put food on the table. But hey hum.

And before anyone starts shouting, there is more to a bussiness than just making money.
