I’m afraid McCall is an absolutely dreadful CEO imho . I see no vision , leadership or drive for improvement from her . Earns £3milliin a year for doing what ? Certainly not adding value or communicating effectively with shareholders . The woman must have no shame .SP going nowhere with her at the helm . I just can’t see what the game plan is and why institutional investors put up with it .

I agree. SP is floating around 80-85 . Can’t see what puts it higher certainly not CEO performance. Unless a bid comes in ( unlikely tbh) this a dead dud stock . I’ll bail out if we see 85-90

I sort of agree with Jedclampit . I don’t see 60s but there seems no market in this stock, no interest and BoDs don’t even have anything interesting to say or encouragement. If I see 90p I’ll be out quicker than Starmer and Rayner can get down on 1 knee

@Pogo. It’s not we think the company is worthless . It’s we have seen no proof that current CEO and BoDs are fulfilling the company’s potential . I’m looking to get out about 90p or so ( was always my plan tbh I bought in early 60s) but SP seems stuck at this level and apart from buyback s there seem no upward momentum. SP even went soft on reasonable interim results

Thank Janus. We need it . ITV seems poorly run and I have little faith anymore and I see no bid either ( but will be happy to be proved wrong tomorrow )

@solley1. I did same with RR. Bought at 79 sold at 149 and felt quite pleased with myself at the time!, But a profit is a profit. I’ll hold ITV til after interim , I don’t see a bid coming so if I see early 90s I’ll get out

I don’t think there’s any doubt there’ll be a tax grab by the incoming Labour Govt. but they forget us recent retirees might just end up leaving the UK & take our wealth (that we’ve worked for for 45 years ) with us although I guess they’ll be happy to replace us with a 3rd world migrant who can deliver take aways cheaply ….

I’ve made plenty trading BP in the past , still hold quite a few it fact it was selling some at 5.55 late Oct that I bought my itv stake at 64. Oil is always a good investment long term and sometimes short term too and despite what green disciples say will be basis of world energy for decades to come . I think BP is at its mid range atm but more likely to go up than down imho from this point . I’ll look to off load at 5.75 and buy more at 4.75 subject to geopolitics

You raise a pertinent point but when you consider the FTSE hs fairly much stagnated at 7000 from 2015 onwards ( minus the Covid drop) and we had 10+% inflation last year then reaching 8000 isn’t that spectacular. Of course there will be a retrace at some point things rarely go up in a straight line but I could see 8800/ 9000 by year end subject to geopolitics/wars etc. I’d expect ITV to mirror this but with buyback tailwinds I could see this in the 90s but not much more. I’ll be looking to off load late 80s…. A bird in the hand etc

I’ll be selling in mid 80s. CEO & BoDs are taking this SP nowhere . Any corporate developments seem to be done behind closed doors. Lost faith months ago

There’s at least 1 large seller about . I accept a buyback can only sit passively on the bid but today is a classic example of how they could sit at 71.5 ( for example ) and suck up loads but buyback managers flake away. There’s passive and there’s and capitulation . Today was the later . CEO & BoD will only lead this company to it death , on a relatively quiet flat day the SP sinks like stone .

Not a chance this is going to mid 80s let alone £1 anytime soon. It’s meeting resistance in early 70s so there is obviously a seller ( or more than 1 ) at those levels . And I’d be amazed if anyone bids for this company given problems the potential Telegraph bidder faced . Trading update may surprise us all ( either way as could a stock market correction ) but I strongly suspect this will drift at 68-75 levels for a while

No please don’t remake them . The Dame will instruct the remakes undergo a diversity update and and the new rainbow characters displaying their differences will become more central than the fun escapist plots

@BigEgo , a mistype old chap ( not got my reading glasses with me today ) but the thrust of my post remains the same . The SP isn’t going anywhere very far while company is run by incompetents who don’t deserve their remuneration

If c28 million shares have been bought via buyback , given tailwinds of a general rising market and next interest rate move likely to be lower I can only assume from a fairly flat SP that institutions are selling into this rise . If we are lucky we might get 85p this year but that’s your lot and I’ll be out of this dog before then. CEO and BoD are the problem. No real recovery until they are gone .

Every person on this forum is responsible for themselves not WimT. We all take our chances and make our decisions and live with the results. Only a fool would be influenced by an anonymous account without evidence ( as opposed to opinion that may inspire one’s own research ). I still think ITV would be better under new leadership and I’m not WimT under another account. Either way I’m too small an investor to influence the business model or other shareholders and I doubt the institutional investors take any notice of these postings

I think that ITV ( the studios in particular) have a bright future if managed properly. I still hold and will hold on for a while yet as I see further rises but like WimbT I see this despite CEO & BoD not because of . Its not trolling, opinion or unfair criticism just look at their track record and SP for last 6 years !!! This company will do better under better more visionary and stronger leadership that said ITVX seems to be offering hope ( it just took too long to be out in place).

@Forevernever. Like all statistics it from where your starting point is …. It’s 11.5% rise in last 3 months inc today ( and that’s from a fairly low point albeit not the lowest ) . Given all the tailwinds not exactly spectacular but it’s better than nothing tbf
