Your statement “ I thought the institutions would be piling in on masse” just goes to show that you haven’t a clue what you’re talking about.

You ever heard the word liquidity ? Well down under at present there is none. No shares to trade, the 70 odd million that were released by Newmont and from the A$50M raise are for the most part, tucked away and secure by the institutions that only managed to get a hold of upto 20% of what they’d applied for. The small amount being traded currently is almost certainly from the small pool of shares that were released upon opening bell of the ASX listing.

Open your eyes freddie, you never know, you might just learn something !

Looking at the live prices down under makes me wonder who’s exactly buying & selling GGP ?

The vast majority of shares traded so far are only in double digit transactions (10-99) and if you divide the current number of trades by the amount of shares traded, it averages out at around A$573 dollars a trade.

Pitiful really considering these shares are supposed to be heavily in demand. So I suspect that there’s just no liquidity occurring due to lack of stock available, which is what I’ve been saying for last couple of weeks.

MM’s down under also seem to be manipulating the SP just to try and encourage trade, but to little effect as far as I can see.

Now whose resolve will break first, the MM’s or the punters ?

YNWA91, I see the biggest tactic the MM’s use on a very regular basis is to raise the SP by 10%, thus trying to get folk to take the bait, before suddenly turning tack and reversing the rise which then makes some who are insecure sell out thinking they’ll take a small profit and get back in lower.

You just watch today !

Tildo, spot on in your assumption. Until parity between both markets somewhat equals out, games afoot will be played out here to get shares.

Like I’ve been saying, those who thought they’d seen the back of all the games by AIM MM’s, think again.

PJ70, you are assuming of course that everyone here wants to sell.

If as I suspect, investors want to see greater returns than were we currently sit, then explain to me just were is this large volume going to come from, because I for one ain’t selling a single share never mind enough to satisfy the demand from the Aussies.

If they want our shares, they can blumming well pay top dollar for em. We’ve endured enough strife these past five years, there’s not a chance im letting anyone have my golden tickets on the cheap !

Kent Man, the reason the volume is so low is because as I keep saying, currently the Aussies only hold around 10-12% of the shares in issue.

We in the UK hold the rest.

The MM’s here will be doing everything possible to try and get us to part with our golden tickets, by whatever means are at their disposal.

All I’d say to anyone is, watch your backs ! I can see the prices here becoming quite volatile at times because there is a massive demand down under to take anything that can be supplied.

Hey Freddie sorry for the late reply, but in answer to your question, No I didn’t !

I genuinely thought we’d be open for business from 8:00am today as that is what we were all told via the RNS.

Unfortunately, it looks like the distribution of new shares in Greatland Resources Ltd ran into some teething problems.

Let’s hope they get it sorted for tomorrow.

I know we’ve got two trains currently running full chat at Telfer, but I’m hoping for a different type of train to be finally leaving the station after being left on the sidings for 5 years with a leaky engine.

Very tight squeeze will happen on ASX for shares.

Let’s face it, out of only 670 million shares in issue now, only around 10% of those (66M from Newmont plus around another 7M from the IPO) are in the hands of Aussie shareholders. So if the institutions only got 10% of what they were after, just where are they going to get the stock from ?

That’s right, from us over here in Blighty !

We’ve all been witness to what the pesky MM’s on AIM can do when they want to, so I think it’s gonna be fun & games here for the foreseeable until the Aussies get a fair chunk of what we are prepared to give up.

Whether the SP is £3.25/6/7/8 or £3.30 it makes little difference, because it’s got to rise 20p for it to have the same effect as 1p last week.

So I’m not gonna get too excited until it’s gone up by 50p for starters.
