Haggis- that makes total sense to me. Having an AFC unit as an income generator as well as a backup facility makes great economic sense providing the fuel is cheaper than the resulting electricity, which at the moment is more than likely especially as these new fuel sources become mainstream. And of course it’s 100% clean generation. Perfect scenario!
Vard (via ABB) for shipping
This is brilliant news from a high profile British construction firm. The 48p red diesel subsidy on top the the huge increase in fuel costs in recent weeks will be a massive incentive for genset replacement. Well done AFC.
This sounds very encouraging given that air source heat pumps are cost prohibitive and will not cut the mustard with older housing stock. It allows us to move away from natural gas of course.
Good to see Hydrogen being exploited more and more. It would be brilliant to see AFC getting into the hydrogen generating market (not just Alkamem) as well as electricity generation….

Hi Boffin- yes, great news and well done everyone at AFC.
We know from the video Haggis shared last night that the footprint is quarter of the size and HFC output for equivalent size of L is 4 times power?
Exactly haggis, and I’ve said this many times over the years. It beggars belief that someone would actively encourage failure for nothing more than their own gain. It could of course mean that such vermin are paid by organisations (for instance fossil fuel companies or indeed countries trying to disrupt progress in order to maintain their own interests). For this reason, I’m actually happy for AFC to remain silent and strong for as long as they’re legally allowed to. This will result in prolonged attacks by unscrupulous individuals on here but ultimately, AFC will hopefully blow these individuals and their shorts out of the water.
To those that are nervous by the negativity, if you firmly believe (as I do) that AFC have products that will move us towards a cleaner environment and a company that has the potential to grow exponentially over the coming years then hold your nerve through thick and thin. I and many others have been invested in AFC for >10 years. We’ve seen a few highs and many lows but I firmly believe we have the potential to succeed and make a huge difference.
You’re a strange individual mucksy and I’m tired of your strange (to me) comments and I’m especially tired of this board.
When sense in the world prevails and AFC have some interesting news to impart I shall return.
You said millions of people are dying from disease!
Hmmm Covid isn’t a disease?
Yes, a whole lot more should be done to send jabs to countries that need them desperately but those countries should also use them quickly and not allow them to get out of date which is also happening.
Jzchat - what is your issue- green tech in general or AFC ?
Mucksy- what a disgraceful and disrespectful comment!
Yo think we had to put up with your Covid conspiracy dross during the pandemic and now this regarding the Ukrainian situation. It beggars belief the type of people boards like this attract. You should have an assessment of your moral compass.
FILTERED!
Jzchat- useful 3rd post under your username. Sounds like your drawers are going to be empty then as AFC are performing in line with all other peers and share prices in general.
Given the current situation, I would rather my money is invested in the clean energy sector.
Hi con - when I see replies like yours, I liken it them to the techniques used by Putin and his state. Trying to apply doubt and mistrust. Your cronies on here have been around for a few months now and how you can live with yourselves is beyond me. Agreed, it does not specify AFC itself and, at this stage I wouldn’t expect it to as that would involve advanced stage of contracts with AFC directly. The fact it states “integration of new fuel-cell and battery technology.” at this early stage sound very promising that it ”could” be AFC they are referring to down the line.
You and your like seem hell bent on shunning clean technology. Why not embrace it in parallel with fossil fuels (as there will of course be a transition period) and let the world breathe again as well as making a wise investment ?
Haggis- maybe they’ll tow a huge caravan with all the kit in :-)
Seriously though, what if the FC is sufficiently small enough to provide the necessary power? What if the tank contains a hydrogen carrier such as ammonia? Could the cracker be miniaturised to provide 400+ miles per tank?
I agree with your questions and the rationale behind an Extreme H series when EVs seem to be the way forward, hence my challenges above. If they are achievable then we’d see a direct replacement of the ICE with a clean alternative. It comes down to scaling down of the tech. Just my thoughts anyway.
Acciona and Mace ?
Also, ensuring safety is paramount. We’re seeing slow improvements to automated road vehicles. Air traffic will have an extra dimension to contend with. It’s going to take a few years I reckon but Coventry is the start of that process and AFC did well to get in there early as another PR opportunity.
Hi Eddietheo - yes, that’s correct. A demonstration of what can be achieved going forward. AFC’s unit will charge the drones during the event (and presumably in tests prior to the event starting)
Agusta- always good to read your posts. Agreed that the big oilies need to reinvest their profits for the benefit of the planet and of course for the benefit of their future shareholders. Good luck with the airport project, I’m sure there are a myriad of hurdles to cross before we see these ventures become mainstream and of course, safe.
DW - I have read your many posts over the years and some of your posts are sensible, useful and balanced.
More recently however your comments about the UK (of which you are not a citizen and therefore have no right to comment) Secondly, your disrespect, blatant lies and hatred of Adam Bond is bordering on insanity. For these two reasons I am filtering you for good. I hope you sleep well at night as I am now concerned for your mental health.
