Jim - thanks for sharing your view after attending the AGM.
I think also, the hydrogen economy has been slow to get any momentum. Looking back, we’ve discussed previously that the business model has changed significantly from the time many of us first invested here but we could all see the potential. Look how the hydrogen supply market has changed in that time - when we were previously looking towards waste hydrogen from other processes, we now have new sources of hydrogen from green/grey/blue electrolysis methods, ammonia cracking, methanol reforming plus other waste to energy methods that will all come to market in the near future, if not already available now. This hydrogen source change has therefore transformed the possible use cases into a whole new H2 economy that the world is in now acknowledging that we need and need right now as part of a diverse and stable energy mix. As a result of this, AFC are responding to the quickly changing needs of the many diverse markets that can adopt hydrogen. AFC have chosen to focus on some key pillars to get us commercial right now and this will be off-grid EV charging and diesel genset replacement.
Yes, we’ve waited a long time to get here and it’s been a frustrating journey for many of us, but I remain convinced that we have viable products to get us to sales and a pipeline of other major markets that we can focus on now for the other pillars such as data centres and maritime.
Yes, of course we need sales and hopefully with ABB firmly embedded plus the imminent delivery of Power Towers to our construction industry partners, we will get there in the upcoming months. So I’m happy to hold and may even top up when funds become available.
We know that an updated website is forthcoming.
We know that AFC are talking to directly to partners/customers….ABB, Mace, Acciona, Keltbray, Urban Airport, Altaaqa, Juelich. Yes, an updated website is needed and they have acknowledged this and are acting on it we understand. I suspect there will be conversations with other leasing companies right now
It’s an interesting question though as if the Towers are linked together you’d probably just want one fuel source and converter to serve all Towers, which would be a cost saver perhaps
Hi B&S - so the question is whether the 3 fuel conversion units featured on slide 5 of the presentation will also be included in the Towers
I can envisage the ammonia cracker and H2 purification modules fitting in(no idea of scale from the pic though) but having a steam reformer might require separation from a fire safety perspective? I’m not an engineer but those are my thoughts
Seeing some of the posts on here today just proves that there are some unusual “characters “ in this world.
Those who managed to attend the AGM yesterday were no doubt very fortunate to witness first hand how far AFC has come on and more importantly, where the company is heading. The AGM is a meeting to reflect on the previous 12 months but the presentation gives us plenty of clues about the future trajectory in what will undoubtedly be a fast moving and fast changing energy world.
We should not expect attendees to report on their personal findings of the AGM. It is a bonus if they are prepared to share and there should be no abuse or pressure laid on them. It’s a shame that posters have to resort to abuse/bullying on what should be a healthy discussion board.
The presentation link that Alt-muddle kindly posted should be enough for us all to feel confident that AFC is heading to an exciting future. I’m as frustrated as anyone else that we’re not we we thought we wanted to be but such is life. We are in capable hands and we have partners that can truly take us places. I look forward to the upcoming months as integration tech is delivered and we can see delivery of the S series together with sales (hopefully) of the HFC.
I’m under no doubt at all that the hydrogen economy is going to deliver at pace and that AFC is best placed to take advantage of this.
Now could we ALL get back to making this board a place for healthy mature discussion ?
Cheekboy2 - you have the cheek to come on here with that blatant untruth ! Filtered!
Given that there’s a major war on our our European doorstep by a super power who has no respect for international law and human life plus an ongoing worldwide pandemic, I’d suggest the share price is doing remarkably well and in line with our sector peers!
This was an AGM and the accounts of the AGM presentations I’ve heard either on here, or separately, show that AFC has moved on significantly in the past couple of years and for me, the pictures of both Power Tower product variants show that we now have products that our partners and customers need going forward. We are at the start of an energy transition period and I believe AFC is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this with their world class leading technology.
Many will put a negative spin on anything that comes out of the agm and continue to attempt to keep the SP down. What idiots these people are - embrace the company you have allegedly invested in and let this company succeed for pity sake!
There are countless reasons why we need this company and others like it to succeed.
Over what period I wonder
Why would ABB be selling our products? They’d have a requirement to use our EV Tower in a specific situation that their customers would require. We’d receive a sale/lease on the back of that. That’s my understanding.
Agreed that this is fantastic news and shows the confidence in the EV charging market that will need to keep pace with growing demand for EVs. Worldwide there should be huge demand for off grid solutions or interim solutions prior to grid upgrades. Very pleased with this additional product variant to sit alongside the world’s fastest EV charger developed by ABB
In my opinion, I see a huge market going forward in distributed energy generation just as governments already looking at small scale nuclear. I would think it’s far better use of resources to generate green hydrogen from wind and storing this hydrogen ready for peak generation when required rather than using huge batteries which consume limited natural resources.
So, the original market for AFC was to use waste/vented hydrogen at local sites. The concept hasn’t changed other than we now have far better ways to generate green hydrogen and/or ammonia. Makes sense to me anyway.
Hi Spacerate - “ plus those who subscribed to the placing at 64p, stare at huge paper losses”.
Just wanted to point out we’ve been through (and still going through) a global pandemic and now a very serious war in Europe. I suggest every listed company on stock markets around the world have experienced similar drops.
AFC is battling on, developing niche products in very difficult circumstances to get us to commercialisation. We’ve got major/global partners on board who clearly see potential in our products. We have a climate crisis to address in parallel to all the world’s other woes.
Based on the above, I personally think Bond is performing well. There are things I don’t like with ABs approach but on the whole he has
-steered the company through the pandemic
-grown the staffing levels significantly
-acquired and fitted out new manufacturing facilities in the UK
- secured massive funding via the placement, securing our medium future
-developed new partners leading to initial sale/lease
-developed relationship with ABB such that they have now invested in AFC
-through the ABB relationship we now have increased and diverse markets in which we can thrive
-new product development with significant reduction in footprint but with increased power density
The list can go on but I think this shows that the remuneration reflects the potential we have in this fledgling company. Suggest people reflect on this.
Thanks
Nice subtle deramp there Séance
Athansius- that’s my point. Exactly like marmite- you either love it or dislike it.
These beauties will need charging. I wonder if the S Series could ever be used in a smaller vehicle such as a bus ?

Agreed Heath23.
I’d like to think we’d get a new website up and running ahead of the AGM showcasing the full product range developed or under development
Bovril. A bit like Marmite…. A really useful and informative post, thanks for that.
Another poster to filter… great!
Jgbb123 - I don’t know why you are having this discussion. I can’t see any reason to have a dig at Alt-muddle when he’s just genuinely asking who’s attending. Alt-muddle has always provided brilliant insights/summaries from these events in the past and I always look forward to hearing these insights. I’m unable to attend myself unfortunately as I’m due to start a new job the day or so before so poor timing for me.
It seems people just want to argue on these boards. No wonder the world is as it is! Chill !
Ogggs - please check this out. Acciona are a renewable energy company !

Oh for goodness sake, looking at this board today it’s people giving Daz airtime. Why on earth do you give the snivelling little tick the air time he craves (and others). Just put these people on filter and ignore the noise!
AFC are just getting on with things very well in my opinion. Trust your instincts and don’t rise to any of the crap these people spout. It’s very liberating putting these people on ignore!
