My divi was a cash payment into my account - a real 9500 pounds of uk sterling just the same as yours was - we both lost out on the shareprice drop - im still in my position as are you - there is absolutely no difference here apart from I understand it.

There is a small overnight charge but not capital gains tax on sb either - what you said above is true for both spreadbet and share buying - by the way the shares you buy will be in a nominee account more than likely - IE your broker owns them lol

IG only pay advance divi on SB accounts - I got my 9500 same day as Faulky - it's just the way they do it on SB.

RBS have today reached a 12 months high even with the market knowing the government is going to sell loads of shares flooding the market - both RBS and BARC announced buybacks where as LLOYDS haven't yet - I believe this is down to us having the CFO standing in for the CEO..... There is a reason he is a CFO and not a CEO!!

I believe the markets are taking full advantage of no buyback and no real CEO currently - give it a bit more time and we will get a buy back as they can announce that as and when they want....

Most people who buy shares don't own them - they are in a nominee account with the platform they use - DYOR

SFX - Like I said I did hit a 40k deficit to start from 30p down to 24 then ran some longs and traded along side.

The movements are to hard to predict currently so I'm letting the positions run until 50p then I'll look to trade.

LLOYDS has been great - 55p will see me well over 300k up since the start of the pandemic just in LLOYDS.

If you didn't predict 17p or unpredictable lows all is well.

It's been a good calendar year dividend wise tbh - just over 21k from LLOYDS - just finish the year off at share price of 50p with a good chance of 55p on the cards.
