Hardup - I think you are looking to much - looking for problems or solutions on a daily basis for price action.... Remember nothing makes sense on the markets - if it all made sense and was predictable there would be no market... Differing views make the market.

Dc until you admit you have been wrong for a whole year there is no conversation to be had - you will become a better investor by admitting your mistakes on LLOYDS.

DC you were saying the same thing at 32p and 33p regarding the DOW and LLOYDS - after your continued repetitive negativity LLOYDS hit 50p. You seem to post the same drivel all the while the shareprice improves, constantly talking of LLOYDS taking a beating and being in a downtrend at 33p. I'd have to suggest your charts and TA are some what broken - you forecast 43p for 2021 and said anyone saying 50p is deluded but we hit 50p in june??
You also predicted no profits or dividend lol

I have said this before the dow Jones at near record highs Lloyds has not benefited from this 95th worst performing stock in the ftse100 last year in January Lloyds down over ten per cent because the ftse100 has had a terrible month despite the good start and the dow is having a slight breather affecting sentiment this side of the pond and Lloyds is taking a beating

Falky what was Lloyds price pre covid 55p you are getting excited about the fantastic rise from 24p to 40p but it has retraced 20 per cent from 40p and downtrend continues.

Bertram this is a ftse100 share it has had a great run from 24p to 40p notwithstanding the falls from 55p last January I have tried to shoot the fantasists down looking for easy money with predictions of 50p 60p 70p 80p 90p 2021 some of these deluded clowns seriously believe it the most optimistic broker forecast for this donkey is 43p which is my forecast 2021 and now I feel I am looking foolish the more this donkey goes down the harder it becomes to make up the falls

Even if the banks wanted to pay any dividends doubt there will be any profits to do so

Anyone that bought higher in the past had the opportunity to double down last year in the 20s - if you didn't then the blame falls in your lap - the reason LLOYDS hit 24p was down to covid so anyone blaming LLOYDS is deluded.

JUST IN CASE PEOPLE MISSED IT

It's almost as though hollybean thinks he is the kings tailor who sold the king an invisible outfit - telling you the shareprice is 43p when you can see it's 45p... Also not mentioning the recent 47.8p...

Also the fact you can add 1.3p to today's price with dividends received thus far this year...

Also not mentioning the uk market as a whole is just treading water...

Also why does the new guy need to pull a rabbit out of the hat? Did you miss the recent results? (great results but missing a buyback due to an interim CEO)

Hollybean has spent a whole year watching the shareprice rise from 24p to 50p and denying that there was an uptrend all the while telling users on this chat 17p was going to happen.... So the shareprice rises 26p and there's no uptrend but it drops 3.7p and all of a sudden it is in a down trend.

You could say that hollybeans whole posting history stinks of someone who has missed the rise and is bitter and twisted about it.

Regarding buyback - there is a current comparative ie both BARC and RBS have done/announced buy backs recently in half year results where as LLOYDS never - RBS and BARC have climbed since where as LLOYDS has done sweet F all.

Ah ok, I'll rephrase - there is still over a 40pc gain to get to pre covid levels.

Don't forget to take into account how many pence per share they have had in divi's - 73p minus total divi's is the price they have paid.

Example 73p minus 5p in divi's equals 67p paid per share

Sam exactly - acquisitions can be very lucrative and also add to long to value.

John didn't you bail out at a much lower price than the current level??

So John just to be clear here - you are saying that a buyback is not a return to shareholders?

Or are you saying that it is a return to shareholders in the case of every other listed company except LLOYDS?!

Also you cannot compare any other buyback in the history of LLOYDS to a current buyback - fundamentaly the company and market are different every time there is a buyback - LLOYDS is currently 30 or 40 percent below pre covid levels so a buyback WOULD boost the shareprice just the same as RBS and BARC have been boosted by their recent buybacks.

People saying that previous buybacks didn't boost the shareprice - they may not have boosted it at that time due to some fundamentals with the market conditions at the time BUT the buybacks could well have stopped the shareprice falling... Never thought about that huh?!

A SHARE BUYBACK IS CATEGORICALLY A RETURN TO SHAREHOLDERS.

There has been some crazy chat and conspiracy theories on this chat lately lol!!

A few things worth remembering -

The market is NOT expecting the new CEO to announce anything monday - he will start his job and that's that.

There is no down trend in play here - current share price is 47.5p including the dividends we have received.

A buy back announcement would be music to the ears of the market and WOULD increase the shareprice.

Consolidation will do absolutely NOTHING for shareholders value - it may make a few day traders move on.

A buyback is a return to shareholders where as consolidation is no return whatsoever - anyone telling you differently is thick or stupid - or both.

All negative poster's here have been wrong for well over a year - they have been wrong about absolutely everything inc the economy/covid/lloyds/house prices /interest rates/Ftse/Dow and so much more!!

We do need a buyback but I don't believe it will come until q3 - very annoying as this is purely down to us having an interim CEO.

If no buyback/special divi is announced in q3 we will see the year out scraping 50p but with the buyback or special divi we will see 55p plus - ill be happy with 50 but high 50s would be lovely!! We need a 4pc buy back to keep up with RBS and BARC.
