Tbh honest even the placing was a slap in the face for private holders...

The Kamanis have watched frasers build a stake over 18 months, sat in their mighty thrones thinking nobody can touch them or their empire....

They hadn't bothered to buy a single share over that whole period, then when they realised they were in a tight spot they did a placing to bolster their position in the cheapest possible way they could!!

They knew that had they started trying to accumulate an additional 5 percent of the free float it would have sent the price bonkers, so they issued a placing to get their shares in the cheapest way they could, whilst hiding behind a dept repayment as the reason when no payment was due.

Had they bought on the open market they would have triggered a buying frenzy and the sp would probably be in the 60s by now

Hey ocean - in my opinion if you can run 1.2 billion revenue business in 2020 with 2600 staff and a staff cost of 80 million....

Then you can definitely run a 1.4 billion revenue business with less than 3000 staff and cost of under 100 million....

Especially when you consider the automation so say improved the pick rate by some huge factor - wasn't automation 9 times the pick rate?

(revenue this year will likely be 1.2 billion anyway)

If you look at the numbers and take into account the acquisitions of failed brands, the numbers have gone back to 2019 levels except one major difference - 2019 the company was PROFITABLE.

Yes debenhams may be just about turning a profit but at what detriment to the rest of the business - the company paid 50 million quid for debenhams but how much have they spent on top of that? They have near on destroyed the whole company and its value to turn debenhams into a 5 million profit over 4 years.

Ask yourself where the company would be if the ego driven management team didn't try to take on the world based on a false sense of security driven by pandemic sales....

My guess is we would probably be profitable still and have 300 million in cash with a share price in the 200s...

The reality is a lot of the work building boohoo was done by Neil Catto as cfo anyway.

That article about the property sale falling through also mentioned the possible sale of nastygal - nastygal is worthless, revenue has fallen from 140 million down to 26 million in 4 years - who would buy that? the only people stupid enough would be our board of directors but they already own it!

The current board are incapable of restructuring, without restructuring this company is knackered.

Had the company delivered improved numbers proving that their "credible plan" was working then I would have voted for them no questions asked...

The fact they have given absolutely everything while managing to give nothing meaningful is ridiculous....

For all the hot air, nothing has changed with management or the company.

Mike would have to call an egm and get a resolution voted on to go above 30 percent without making a take over bid.

Which would basically say to the market im buying another chunk of the company so the share price would go bonkers anyway - also add to that he would need to buy every share available in the free float to get himself to 50 percent.

Everything being done by Mike is being done by the book - if you think he's done anything wrong you just don't know the rules.

Umar never brought 3 percent of the company recently - he took his shares when the company bought plt at an over value.... 170 odd million in CASH and 100 million in shares.... Back around 2021

Ocean - it's not about punishment for me, its about having the right people at the helm and the right people backing them up.

Despite all of this fuss the board is still full of kamanis yes men - they have the audacity to just shuffle the board around and think its fooling the market.

The Kamanis have pulled over 400 million out of this company, then watch it sink 90 percen due to all of their poor planning and ideas. Point blank refusing to buy any shares... Then when it suits their own agenda they put less than 5 percent back in and dilute us for the pleasure!

The board needs change and this is the only way it will happen.

You know another question asked at the agm - should the management team give up all bonuses until the company makes a profit again? Answer - well we don't just look at profit blah blah blah... You wait and see they will be stripping bonuses out of this company within 12 months while its losing 100s of millions.

You have to be nuts to vote for more of the same.

What company in their right mind leaves a moron like JL destroying the sp from 400p down to 27p amd still awards a bonus...

Unhooked - they have to spend all the profits on something so xmas cards is a lovely thought....

Carols election was also on the back of stonking results with huge growth and profits....

The vote to oust Mahmud comes at a time where revenue has nearly halfed, 650 million quid has been wasted and there is no clear route to stop the losses and shrinking revenue....

Carol managed to survive that vote by a great margin even though glass Lewis recommend sacking her off....

Safe to say glass Lewis recommendation here is based on nothing other than their own opinion....

I wonder if institutions here are also sick of the poor performance and excuse after excuse from the current board....
