No, you're not. Battered and bruised but still here. Won't be leaving until this is at more reasonable levels and at that point we should be on a longer term upward trajectory, I hope.
LBPS opening up a bit stronger. Appreciate the volume is low over there but its better than the SP falling!
Lol! Yes, Sang, at present its the only one I'm invested in and has been the case for a while. Sorry, I'll be around for a bit longer!
Nope. Holding and considering buying to average down. I definitely do not believe it will stay at these levels long term.
Yes, I suspect there have been/will be some phone calls with Merck. Not that they will necessarily do anything, may just prefer to sit on their hands, but it is certainly an incredible opportunity for them to buy in at low cost and essentially make 4D their own.
Awful day yesterday, awful. Hope everyone that’s holding is ok?
Woke up with this thought and it at least makes some sense of what happened, to me at least. Let’s say you were CEO and concerned about the shareholder vote and passing the resolutions. Would it be of benefit to drive out already frustrated PI’s in the few days before, replacing them with new shareholders, many of whom may not know about an upcoming AGM, or vote in time? I honestly don’t know. Is the benefit of that greater than turning current shareholders (those that continue to hold) against you?
The presentation seemed so poorly prepared, poorly delivered and devoid of the answers that shareholders wanted to know about. My only conclusion is total incompetence or a planned action. Neither of which I would be happy about.
Oh! Its just changed back to 16.5p. Forget I said it.
I mean, 19p is dreadful, but why has it jumped to that price on google?
Fairly sure Merck or another can fund whatever they like. Buy 4D on the cheap. Fund the research.
Algo’s have been working against this for a very long time to drive it down.
£33m Market cap. Perhaps that’s the idea. A planned buyout is the only explanation I have for what happened today.
Not simply wishful thinking but a genuine reality at these levels. Would cost Merck or another next to nothing to take this out now.
Agreed, and makes no sense to me. Unless there was some ulterior motive (clutching at straws here) but I cannot understand why anyone could deliver a presentation like that and expect new and current shareholders to buy in their droves. I'm a huge supporter of DDDD and it was just appalling.
I do definitely think that we will become part of Merck at some point. When that will be, who knows. Current share price and market cap makes us an absolute steal IMO, though Merck may not be hugely concerned with that and may prefer to wait for more data readouts. Either way, I hope today brings us some much needed reassurance as investors. I am looking forward to the presentation - diary has been cleared! Duncan - focus on the INVESTMENT case and business, not on the science, we know that's good. Hopefully a good day ahead. GLA!
Well, investor meet tomorrow. At least we know we will get some updates and hopefully answers as to why IR have been so incredibly poor. They certainly do seem happy to let the SP languish at these levels without making much effort to support it, for reasons I honestly can't fathom.
Well, no RNS. That's a shame and slightly disappointing. SP is ridiculously low though. One II or Hedgefund buy in and the landscape could change rapidly. Lets hope for a better week.
Definitely could be a case of ‘who blinks first’ in terms of big pharma bids, particularly at this depressed SP/MC level. Even Oxford finance agreement would change the landscape and runway into perhaps better market conditions as you say so a bid before then would make sense. Who knows, certainly very possible and not simply ‘wishful thinking’. 45p might be slightly low ball for Merck in particular who, we are told, have a strong and positive working relationship with 4D. Something like 75p-80p with programmes and staff fully funded might pique some interest though. If that did happen then 4D becomes a very solid investment and likely would be far north of 75p before long, and so potentially everyone is a winner in that scenario.
Totally agree @scrambler.
To be honest, other than a little toe in the water buy, I held off a bit this week to see where this was going but 23p is just nuts and I’m not holding back anymore. Current average is now around 37p and looking to bring it down to 30p or thereabouts, so if my GCSE maths is correct I’m going to need to double up to do that. Other than the company going bust completely (which I’m definitely not expecting) I can’t see any reason why it won’t be back above 30p and much much higher in the near future. Science is so great. Still has huge potential.

42m market cap. Am well aware that our resident clowns will try to suppress any talk of a buy out but it really does make sense at these levels for AZN, Pfizer, Merck or another (especially Merck) to take this out and pick up patents, significant research and progress to date. Whether they will or not is anyone's guess and nobody can say whether they will or won't with any certainty. However, what I do know is that they will all be interested in increasing their focus on what is becoming a hot area of medical interest and research. Whether or not that is with 4D I have no idea but it would certainly give them a leg up given 4D's head start in this field.
The only money you are on @masterblast is the 10p per post you get whilst living in your mums basement.
