He might, and I hope not, but lets see. Appalling if he was allowed to get away with that.
They spell out the fact that one day they talked with Oxford and the next they wanted the money back. Duncan may have known before but we'll never know that. Essentially, they are in a scramble now to find someone that thinks there is value here. Plenty do and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that they are onto something from a treatment perspective. Just depends on whether someone is willing to stump up the cash and commit to support. Or perhaps buy them out relatively cheaply. The wording of that RNS does not suggest to me that its all over yet but we'll have to wait to see.
''The Board intends to work with the Joint Administrators on proposals to rescue the Company as a going concern, albeit there can be no guarantee that this will be successful.''
Its 'only' $13m. In the grand scheme that's not much. Additional funding would obviously be required for continued research/operation.
Yes, any II buyer, such as Merck potentially, would no doubt use the situation to their great advantage and offer low, but there are possibilities. Oxford, for whatever reason, want their money back, no doubt not helped by Duncan's investor event performance. Biotech is back on the up so there may be more interest now. Do Merck want to take the chance of someone else buying this in admin? Who knows. There is plenty of value (IP/research/expertise/production) left in this company. Definitely not clutching at straws, in my mind the money has gone, just my own thoughts, nothing more.
$13.86m is the debt to Oxford. No idea what will happen to our money and shares, likely lost of course but that amount is not unachievable. What value does Merck put on their ongoing research for example. Hard to see positives as there are few but there may be a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere. It’s hard but don’t give up all hope yet.
Lol! Well after 12 years here I’m moving to Truro in Cornwall in two weeks. Not sure I could afford the drunch if this is bad! ; )
True, but why hold it at all if the writing was on the wall? Temporary suspension, pending news. If they knew at the investor event then plenty of time to write an RNS with details. £ is weak against the $, SP of DDDD is in the floor, Biotech picking up. Ideal time to buy them out.
Merck probably decided that we can’t get shareholders to agree to 100% so fcuk it, let’s just buy the thing. Let’s hope so anyway. XBI up and 4D price on the floor. Bargain for them.
Shares can be suspended for both good and bad reasons. If good news, which I hope of course, then it may be leaking out and they want to prevent that. Perhaps that was the reason for both the radio silence and trashing of the share price as suspected at the investor event. Wanted to get the price as low as possible. Who knows, all speculation. Shorts will continue to sow doubt in case they have to get out on a gap up. Reduces the damage. Lets see and good luck to everyone.
Its an hour before US open. Perhaps some news is about to be delivered. Yes it could be bad but it could also be incredibly good. No point speculating. What will be will be.
Having said that, I'm fairly certain that there won't be any imminent raise. 4D have said that they have a runway into Q4. I would be surprised if 4D felt that raising at this price would be necessary therefore and they have additionally stated that they are looking to the US to raise funds, if required. Again, a large II buy in would probably have a very positive impact on SP (certainly over time) even with some dilution.
Currently, I think I'm right in saying that until the AGM 4D can issue 72,000,000 shares 40% of total, which already has shareholder agreement. Open to be corrected on that. A large Merck buy in would definitely provide confidence and security going forward though and would no doubt be extremely positive for the share price.
Nativity!? Lol! Its not Christmas! ; )
Remember the rule of three....
What is the rule of 3 in trading?
In short, the 3-day rule dictates that following a substantial drop in a stock's share price — typically high single digits or more in terms of percent change — investors should wait 3 days to buy. Getting close : )
You can doomonger all you like @aldebran (isn't that a planet in star wars!?) and I'm absolutely not saying that this can't dip further, of course it can, as can any share. I am saying that it could also, very easily, open at 100%-200% higher with the right news, such as Phase 3 or Oxford finance extending the cash runway. 30p would have been considered ultra cheap a week or two ago. It might, it might not, but it definitely could. I think you shorters have had your fun and profits. Probably safest to close now.
Anyone that uses the words y’all and 4get probably isn’t someone you should base investment decisions on.
There are no guarantees but my opinion is you are on a very safe bet with those 15-17p buys! I think the shock of the 'investor event' has dissipated somewhat and the corner has started to turn, not only for 4D but the general Biotech market seems to be slowly gaining interest and attention again. #XBI climbing and I expect 4D to do the same. Fingers crossed for some decent news before the AGM but if not its only on Tuesday so not long to wait. I know plenty about 4D but I'm no Biotech expert. One thing I do know is that the pharma/biotech market can have brutal drops and stratospheric high's. We've definitely had a brutal drop. Stratospheric next would be nice! GLA!
The 25p it was at pre meeting was a joke so I believe this will turn quickly. 15p-30p is extremely achievable within a day upon news and some lucky sods will bag on that. Longer term multi bag potential without question.
Did laugh at the 'management second to non' after the recent performance but totally agree with the rest!
Not in the UK so unfortunately can't make the Elton John concert, funnily enough lived just by him in Englefield Green at one stage in my life. Anyway, I have a feeling things are beginning to turn here and suspect we will be heading toward 20p before long. Very jealous of anyone buying in for the first time at these levels. I think you have got yourselves a bargain.
I prefer to think about how much I'm going to be up (eventually), @Sang.
