Tesla announced in an SEC filing Monday that it bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin.
The company also said it would start accepting bitcoin as a payment method for its products.
CEO Elon Musk has been credited for raising the prices of cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, through his messages on Twitter."

@updownwego - Good post. TRX has Strong balance sheet, is well funded and with covid vaccinations ramping up, TRX will start to fly during 2021 and beyond. This is a great position to be in for them and LTH's will see major rewards in next 12 to 24 months IMO.

It's about time the market sees the upward trajectory of Orph revenues. Look at all the positive RNS's over last couple of months. Major year for Orph imo. GLA

Hey Steve, yes you are absolutely right! Impatient day /week trading has definitely burned me also (normally selling too early and missing the big rise!) I have only really been investing since April 2020 (like many new covid era investors I guess). I started out only in FTSE 100 stocks but soon got itchy feet and sold nearly all those holdings (thankfully for profits) and moved mainly into AIM and FTSE all share stocks now. Heavily diversified as I just keep seeing so many opportunities (although I have definetely made some FOMO mistakes!) so not over exposed in any one stock really (which makes my wife happier as well!) Of course, always wish I had invested more in the few that are flying but equally glad to not to have too much tied up in those that are underwater. I am sure in 10 years time, 75% + of my portfolio will have flown higher in a big way (but like many, I want results now! (like with BRWN!)) so just keep trying to remind myself "Patience, Patience Patience!...have a good weekend!

@Ster1ing - yes, SMT is definetely my most solid long term investment and the one that least causes my pulse to race (except for good reasons!) My dad has been invested in SMT since 1992 and he got me into it 3 years ago. I am very happy with my gain so far (although my dad won't tell me the capital gain he is sitting on!)

@stevethyne - am enjoying reading your posts! Agree, the world is rebounding against Covid for sure and will become more background thanks to the fantastic vaccines that have been fast tracked. I certainly hope BWNG profits from this rebound as I am loathe to sell when (although I have a very modest holding) I got in at 0.33 and don't want to lose such a good entry point if that makes sense. (+ my wife also knows more about BWNG brands than I do so gives us something to talk about!)

I'm in XSG too...good prospects there also!

I did similar (fortunately in at 0.33, added at 0.51 (it did then dip!) and 0.36 average. Seeing where it's been in the past, new leadership in place, covid healthcare demands slowly falling, demand for TRX will inevitably rise IMO. Long term hold...GLA

Good post and we hope Brown Group do benefit but the fact they couldn't capitalise during an enforced online shopping period like other peers did, is a concern. Are products just overpriced vs. Competitors? I wonder if new management could do it better. Seeing French Connection get bidding interest, perhaps Brown is ripe for takeover too?

The main thing is, they are keeping the lights on for now and I hope that means many people will recover some or all of their losses in time. I sold one holding at 80% loss on Monday and feared I would lose the rest as well. This at least gives me (and others) some hope. I even bought more this morning (though very difficult to do so!). Just bought in, spread looked big but when you click to buy I got offered 0.2475. Will look to add if goes lower. Could be good year ahead IMO. GLA

There was a trading update in Jan 2020 so hopefully something similar in next few weeks (once new CFO is properly settled I suspect).

.. hit today! For those who have recently bought in, you are onto a slow but steady winner here. Look at chart for last year ( or last 10 years+ for that matter). The managers here know what they're doing and whilst nothing is certain in stock markets, relative to my (otherwise largely ) AIM portfolio, its nice to look at the steady growth of SMT without me needing to do anything other than wait a few years. If long term investment is your goal, I believe SMT will reward you well with (relatively) low risk. IMO GLA

I have lost 80% of my investment here, not a great way to start the week and having to tell the wife first thing. I think the lack of director shareholding is, as some have pointed out, a clear signal to learn from in future investments. The fact the directors now immediately work for Greencastle tells me that none of the people involved care about the impact of their actions which sadly speaks alot about them as human beings imo. I actually liked some of the interviews I watched and honestly thought there was a good future here. I am trying to look at Investing as a long term goal, I have a widely spread portfolio and in 10 years I am hopeful at least a few will return many multiples. Good luck all and I am very sorry for all those who have lost money today.

@Bo-aim - good for you, you made the investment when future was not certain, you deserve to reap the rewards!
