The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Needs to hold above critical support at 18.5p else we are looking at 16.25 and then 13.1p.
Fingers crossed.
Although because of global events the wider market can be dragged along somethings are always unaffected or benefited.
Given the re-emergence of Lassa, new variants this weeknd, couple with the imminent Co Prep launch amongst other news I believe looking at the chart will we be more likely challenging 180p again this week.
After that nothing really between that and 235-240p where is an gap to be filled.
All in all I'd be more worried if I was investig in an Ukrainian company or a company in Russia that may up being affected by heavily imposed sanctions.
Looking forward to the week ahead.
Jonnybgood,
After 30 plus year in the markets, I've learnt a few things.
One is not to just use rose tinted specs as you tend to see what you want to happen not could happen in positive or negative scenarios.
Better to have a balanced view to make better decisions.
The Russian Ukraine conflict is fact, not dreamt up, let's acknowledge that as adults and maybe try and get some answer from the board as to how this may affect a sale, rather than speculate negatively.
I have mails the company for their view on whether sanctions may affect the sale. Its important we are all gi en guidance on this to avoid any nasty surprises.
*next week
Going to be an uncomfortable hold over bext qeel particularly over the first half of the week.
Invasion potentially Wednesday gives the market a clear couple of days to hammer down the SP, where an invasion happens or not.
16-18p area looking like support. Will take another look later incase that breaks to see what else is there to hold us up.
Hope no one has bitten off too much margin. At least with shares you can just ride it out.
GLA.
Just dropped in to see how things are.
See Yaki on telegram, is Wimbo still about?
Just wondered if Haneti might turn into something good. Nickel and Lithium amongst others I remember?
Background historyPrior to these cases, there have been 8 cases of Lassa fever imported to the UK since 1980. The last 2 cases occurred in 2009. There was no evidence of onward transmission from any of these cases. Now we have A person from Bedfordshire has died after catching Lassa fever, with the total number of confirmed cases in England now up to three, health officials have said
Poidster and all,
I have felt for a while that Covid could be the forerunner to something more serious.
How compliant were we all from the off? Extremely. However, as the past couple of years have unfolded, there is now a deep mistrust of our mismanaging leaders and a resistance to conform with lovkdown and vaccination measures.
I'm have been contemplating a scenario whereby the public no longer believe the governement or will abide by their rules and when another pathogen, more deadly than before comes along the door is wide open for a cataclysmic disaster for humanity.
I maybe off the mark.
Whilst the body of this post tries to stick to Novacyt related issues I also muse how the Russian war is now blooming out of nowhere, just as Covid seems to be less virulent.
Is it designed to take our eyes of the ball?
I would like to hear more as a complete layman on Lassa. It seems its not an airborne disease like Coivd. So less transmissible.
Is there a risk it can piggy back coivd and nose it as a carrier or is completely nonsensical in a biological sense?
Thwre is potential for large move up in the chart.
Lassa fever, I wonder who knows much about it?
Mooching,
I thinknthebvery real chance of war between Russia and Ukraine is having more of an effect.
As soon as Russia put one foot inside the Ukraine heavy sanctions will be put on Russia. How exactly that affects us or any potential buyer is making the market uneasy nervous and uncertai of an outcome.
The market hates uncertainty as we know.
May see a few departing late in the day here given the risk of holding over the weekend. Rightly or wrongly I sold down half my stake this week and holding the rest.
Really could do with it making a new high too.

Nice bounce re-enforces the uptrend

Biden tells US citizens to leave the Ukraine now.
Sounds like Russia are building more and more troops on the border.
Seems like alot of nervousness going into the weekend.
Poidster,
I think you have well articulated why Novacyt has a bright future.
As for trading I feel encouraged that JO HAMBRO have been adding and are upto 1.7% of the company. Also the 400 shares seller is another positive as It's It's technique to keep the reigns on the price alittle.
Slow and steady with the odd spurt does us all well.
123m MCAP with over 100m in cash at the bank, I think we will see a spurt once we cross 180 from memory a gap around 240p needs filling, so I think we will do well, from a trading perspective, in the short term.
Seems like Boris is saying that the Russian/Ukraine conflict has reached the point where the crisis has reached its 'most dangerous moment'.
With the price slipping here I do feel as if we may witness a sell off over the back end of this week. I am not happy about it at all holding some many shares here but may cut a few loose just to limit the downside.
It's only going to take one incursion to force sanctions upon Russia. Let hope it does not come to this.
