RE: BT pension scheme29 Sep 2022 11:12
I've been investing in BT for a while and I've been watching (quietly) this chat group and always see your optimism fleccy, but when will that come true (no offence)? Is a takeover our only hope? I thought rolling to full fibre would be, hence the massive investment by Deutscha Bank and Drahi, however not so sure now with the way the economy is going...
I decided to sell my max (up to CGT allowance) when they were £5, thinking "I'll sell more each year till their gone". Little did i know they'd take such a hit. Thinking i was 'smart', i lowered my average and it just kept going down and down and each time it took a drop, I did the same. Now, it is working, as my average is £1.58 in my share dealing account and £1.88 in my ISA. Seems like i've been doing this for an endless amount of time and it keeps going lower, when i could (and should have) invested elsewhere such as property (resi/commercial) as, as soon as i sell, i've materialised the loss, so money is 'stuck' so to speak. Obv been utilising my ISA allowance via bed and ISA but not had any gain anyway....so little point....I dont know whether to keep buying and lowering the average and lock even more money away. just depends how low its going to go....
