RE: Will this ever do anything!23 Oct 2020 15:03
tied to what the Argentinian government will do with the price fixing of oil, if they allow a higher $rate that is good but they have also tied the Argentine Peso being worth 46 to 1USD for oil, currently, it is sitting at 78/1 on open exchanges. Lots going on politically and with current restructuring of debt to the IMF you would have to think they've made some major concessions for O&G, historically of course Argentina has often chosen to go the other way. I think the Majors are still ploughing ahead at this point unless someone else has more of an update?
No matter all above and how it will transpire, the company made some pledges that can be looked at to really guide performance outwith financials
Increase production to 4-5,000 bl doe, up from 2,600
Stay on track for an increase again in 2021 to be 6-7,500
Also pledged to decrease external debt by a 3rd by end of H1 2021
As the Vaca Muerta formation has around 16.2 bn barrels of share oil reserves being technically recoverable, it would be nice to see some increase in our proven reserves too. Optimistically, hopefully, this can get to 4-5p in the short term.
