R 4 has just summed it up very nicely.The choice is between the deal or no brexit via an article 50 delay and the chance of a people's vote at some stage in the future.
Still a brief chance for Lloyds to sink on the parliamentary vote before news of extending article 50.

Aren't shares a wonderful thing.I hesitated to buy this morning at 122p and was well pleased within the hour.Then go out for the day and i find them at 128p!!

Pop,Trump unfortunately is just another leader elected by a disgruntled electorate.You could say the Canadian's were first with Justin Trudeau in 2015,followed by us Brits in the brexit protest and Macron in 2017.In the western world where we have a vote the masses were and still are discontent with the system and want to be treated like adults.
When Trump says fake news or drain the swamp thats what the small guy in the States wants and still win's him a vote.Whether they get it or not is another matter.
On an economic front the money is out there but its just not getting to the people who will spend it,who will create the demand and which will be good for Lloyds.
This ISN'T full on socialism,it's a few percent coming from the rich who have done well since the crash.

The old nag is showing tremendous resilience when compared to it's peers.We have U.S thanksgiving this thursday followed by Black friday and then hopefully an EU confirmation on Sunday-next monday could be good.
Still think RBS will bounce higher on good news though.

Lti,not sure i can take you seriously.Anyway some of dreams came true today with the biggest fall in house prices since Nov 2012,1.7% which no doubt cannot be good news for Lloyds.

Lloyds is very much committed to treating mental health equally to that of physical health which costs the country an estimated £74-84 Bn.To get this into perspective the net cost of EU membership for frictionless trade of £274Bn is around £10Bn.

Noke,i think to fall into the 40's requires a shock and thats unlikely.We know fairly confidently it will be rejected on the 10th Dec.In the meantime for all i know the EU meeting on 25th Nov might also reject it.
I just cannot see the rush to get in.Forfeit the 1st 5% and get in on a rising trend.
Would the politicians want to clear this up before Christmas?.

Boomer,the trouble with you is you forget that Lloyds along with the rest of the ftse 100 are foreign owned with foreign shareholders accounting for 56% of the shareholding.

With Nugen's failure yesterday and flamanville currently 8yrs behind and getting longer,SSE must be well placed to persue technology we can understand.
Wind turbines are SSE and the UK has an installed capacity of 13Gw but would it be impossible to beat the Germans at 44Gw or try and match the USA at 75Gw.Even India reckons they could achieve 65Gw but i don't think we could beat the Chinese at 145Gw.One of the windiest countries in the world with interconnector back-up.

Lloyds 2% buy-back totally sent the wrong message for a company who has dividend hunting investors.
Not that i'm against buy-backs as i said at the time but 2% was going to have little impact in a share base like Lloyds.
Small buy-back can have an effect when there are a small number of free shares.Wetherspoons is a good example.67% of the shares are tied up with 3 large investors one of which is the owner,Tim Martin bless him.So when you buy back 3.21% of the remaining 33% you have an effect.People aren't hunting a dividend either.

We might disagree on one issue but as an entrepreneur i cannot fault him giving the staff a good pay rise before the all important Christmas season.
If they can achieve an increase in like for like of 4% then it's paid for itself.

Investors have lost control of this one,hedge funds rule.If fig's are good they will let it run up a bit,probably assisting,then cut it to pieces.
Prehaps we're due a set of poor fig's,slash it down then a buy-back recovery.

Jerseycrew,i'm not convinced the digitilisation and AI are the main drivers to the Lloyds share price today or in the coming weeks but accept Lloyds will need to improve to meet competition.

I would say "it's all about the economy,dummy" which assisted Trump last night and will keep Britain in a customs union(common market)
