Jimbo,Why would USA,Canada,Australia,India,China and for that matter Japan invest in the UK if they haven't got access to the EU's 500m consumers.
The options they would have is to either invest in a EU country or a third world state niether of which could the UK compete with.

LTI,the dividend might look good to you but for the other 56% of foreign investor's in the FTSE it doesn't look so tempting if a 10-15% devaluation of the pound is required to make your "clean brexit" work.
I have mentioned it before,prehaps we'll end up as a wholly owned British invested company but i think we still have some way to go.

Tricky,jetting off to fast distant locations purely for pleasure when we have equally good resorts close to home makes no sense if we are trying to reduce CO2 emissions.

Like brexit we need a balance.The world does have a fantastic ability to absorb CO2 but it cannot absorb these current rates before the oceans start spitting phlegm.If we can revert to 1930's levels we may just get away with it.

By all means moan about the brussels gravy train with 751 mep's representing 500m plus people but why not moan about the £5.7bn est cost of updating the Palace of Westminster.
If you were truly a democrat,will of people person then you should want parliament moved to a more central position,say an industrial estate in the West Midlands with easy access to motorways,trains and an airport.
The advantages are considerable cost savings on accomodation especially if a 400 bed motel went along with the complex.The bulk of MP's could experience commuting from as far a field as london and Manchester and meet common people.
More people would be able to take thier protest to where it counts.
The Palace of Westminster could then be restored by the private sector for a corporate venue and the public areas opened up like the Tower of London with similar admission fees.

Worse case the Germans risk 57% of the 6.6% of exports which go to UK.While the UK would risk 57% of 44% with EU.
