I agree with Carnegie's view of 100% inheritence tax,in my opinion true capitalism were everyone would at least start equal and the true elite would rise to the top.
It would take a few generations to put an end to the born into wealth elitist like Rees Mogg but wouldn't it be fairer to have leaders who have earnt their standing.

Growth is now slowing and my fear is Government will want consumer spending to rise because it's easy,but what if the compulsory private pension contributions which rose again by 2% in April where actually invested in British infrastruture creating a sterling return for ultimately a sterling cost in years to come.Would not a return on a Severn barrage be better way to growth than consumers borrowing and defaulting say on a Lloyds loan for a foreign built car.

Isn't a buy back the opposite to a hedge fund shorting it sends a message you are prepared to defend your MC,they both only really effect sentiment.The trouble with any indirect message it can be misconstrued and adding millions of additional shares neutralises it.
Still can't understand why hedge funds if this is the case would short a ftse100 company(CNA) at 1.7%,i get the message if the buy back or short is above 5% but what does 1.7% say?

Bruce,lets take your figure of 75% and remember we export £300bn to EU.If we take the 75% as value this leaves us with a £75bn per annum deficit,twice the market cap of Lloyds then you also have to remember our surplus with the EU is in the service industries which i'm betting now is where the majority of the sme's are.Some will be in long term contracts and will have to register,the others when they see the paperwork will say to hell with this and revert to the domestic market.

Bruce,i thought i was being very prudent using Vote leave's fig of 6%.For many of them exporting to the EU is probably a small proportion of their turnover so i can understand why they would just give up with it but that's not good for our current account is it.

There are 5.6m sme's in the UK the highest % within the EU.Up until the 16th June 2019 72,000 have applied for a EORI to export to the EU.Using Vote leave fig of 6% export to the EU this would give us 280,000.Considering applications have been open since dec 2018 this would indicate many are not going to trade after the 31st.
Will this have a positive effect on the UK's trading account?

If you think the UK economy is all brexit related and this will blow over then Lloyds in the 40's is a bargain price however i feel all these excuses they are coming up with why consumers are putting off purchases particularly large ticket items like cars are lie's and the truth is they cannot actually afford them.
