Laid - Not 2008, I was in 2012/2013. When Thomas cook crashed from £2 to 9p I actually watched it on the news channel in the galley on an oil rig! That’s what made me get into shares, by the time I set an acc up and waiting for a code to be sent from my bank at the time shares went to 30p. Then we all know what happened, but I was in Sirius back then, sound oil, xtr, sres, Jlp, bpc, gkp ive been in a few. Names changed from then though lol! Used to be khany something. I can recall you’re name on the boards back then!

Betrayed - I’ve only been back in the shares the past 6 or so weeks. I do actually do my basic research on what I am buying, I just wasn’t going back through over a year ago. I was in here back in 2013 when I was trading also. I just go back to stocks which I know from tprevious.
I Definately wouldn’t be buying/selling just of reading these boards I would be broke by now lol.

Now now guys lol... been a pretty good board all week let’s keep it that way.
Well the clear out has already started for sure starting from the top so hopefully this is what was needed (along with a lot of other things) but it’s one step at a time right? I’d like to think tullow will be right back up there again in the near future.

So October last year Tullow was trading at 210p. What’s drastically gone wrong since then to now? I mean as in production rates ect?? I’ve only been back in shares for the last 6 weeks or so as I posted earlier so I haven’t been doing as much research as i should.

Without sounding too naive can someone explain How the shorts work? I know they seem to effect the price of a share but don’t fully understand how?

Laid - Evening, well my take on things, oil price is $42.30 at present, opec+ agreement has agreed to extend cuts and also looking to review the extension on 18th June for a longer period, new ceo onboard, Uganda sale, covid19 restrictions lifting and life getting back to pretty normal again (whatever normal is). So it’s inevitable the demand for oil will be back for sure so it’s a no brainier to invest here, that’s why we are here anyway right?
My estimations for Monday ohhhh... if we could finish anything over 10% would be a nice start to the week, but I’m expecting another good week like the previous one we just had.

Nice post laidback. Sure I remember you from a while back in here And/or other shares, I’m guessing you are a long termer in here then? I hope it made you a millionaire at that time too and you are back for a bit of fun ;-).

The question is mickm will you be in come Monday 8am? All week last week we’ve had a steady rise.
I believe the same again this week :—)

Also economy getting back to normal and flights in the sky can only mean one thing... the demand for oil!
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work this one out ;—)

HiggyP- Evening, I get that aswell a lot of the time first thing, for me I don’t purchase unless I get a live price. But pretty much so I believe it’s just everyone trading first thing. I don’t seem to know 100% how it all works mind maybe someone with better knowledge could post on this??

Betrayed - I’ve had my money in shares this time round for about 6 weeks now. It’s not just a case of putting them in tlw 3 days ago and hoping for them to double. I have had them in shares like I say the last 6 weeks, but the time is nearer for me to pull it out once the mortgage advisor says yes we have so n so ready now. I’ll have to remove my money and then that’ll be me away for a few months moving house and getting it sorted. I am a pretty mad gambler though tbh lol! But id say pretty soon I will pull out no matter what the situations like due to needs must for deposit money back.

Thanks Matt. Definately an interesting week this week. I can’t see any reason why we will go below 30 from here on in.. just lots of positive news due and a sustained rise once more. I’ll be getting shot down once again. Maybe I’m walking round with blinkers on and not looking at any negatives...

Slift - I haven’t been on since this morning, busy making sandwiches, little trays of food ect.. she got the lot and more! Always does. I still cannot help a quick catch up on the boards though as the house is finally starting to wind down. Had a couple sisters and brother round. Boris said we are allowed ha! Today is the new Monday.
Apart from my kids birthday party it’s great to see a few people still actually posting. I can imagine a lot of people are sat on the sidelines waiting to jump in Monday morning. Expect a large rise first thing and a little retrace Throughout the day but we will
