At midnight on Nov. 29, tickets for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Spider-Man: No Way Home” went on sale, crashing domestic movie ticket sites.
This kind of fervor has not been seen at the box office since 2019 when advanced tickets for titles like “Avengers: Endgame” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” went on sale.
Box office analysts say it is a positive sign for the movie theater industry.

There is a reason why Barclays reiterated 115p target! Do you think Pogo, PawelB and the chums here know better than Barclays? :-)
Upto you who you want to listen to!
Similar to Bond if we get news about pre sales for Spiderman reaching similar or higher highs to Bond movie then we could see a considerable re-rate of SP.
When the Bond pre sales demand was announced, SP started hitting 70s. We may see 60s in the coming week at some point.
'England ‘nowhere near’ introducing tougher Covid restrictions, Sajid Javid says
England is “nowhere near” introducing tougher Covid restrictions, Sajid Javid says, despite the return of mask-wearing and PCR tests for travellers.
The health secretary rejected stricter curbs – such as social distancing, or a working from home rule – arguing they “carry a very heavy price” and are not necessary now, despite the arrival of the Omicron variant.'
Good Evening LPD, now at cineworld. The place is absolute cracking. Tills very very busy. Behind the counter, cine staff are wearing mask and I see some who came to movie are also wearing mask! Me and my wife are wearing mask. No problem wearing mask to visit cinemas! had to wait for 10mins in the queue to get our snakcs! just quickly checked CINE Liecester Square booking again, absolute jam packed. Almost all seats booked -

will update again
Am going tonight. Wife is shopping and am with the phone. Mall is bustling with shoppers! Movie after the shopping is a perfect treat for her tired legs. Where else you can go in the cold? Nearly half of cinema booked for 7.40pm show. We have seen that more people turn up at the tills instead of booking online. I will update again after watching the movie.
Yuri. F, don't talk as if you are running the world's second largest cinema chain. Leave it to Mooky. He pulled CINE out from the pandemic when cinemas were closed for 6 months. In a few days, it is December and there is no sign of lockdown in US, which is CINEs major market with 80% revenue from US and in couple of months, it is business as usual. Cinemas are here to stay for several decades. Movies like Avatar and Matrix will be coming again and again. Big screen can't be beaten.
Just one news to confirm that new variant is not a bigger threat is enough to explode the share prices. Already one of the SAGE scientist confirmed that virus is known for few weeks and that some advisors are "exaggerating" and over reacting, which has been the case since last year. If Merck says their pill can stop the new variant then all markets go green. We will see a repeat of last year with SP moving from 50s to 122p by March.
The director of the Oxford Vaccine Group, which developed the AstraZeneca vaccine, expressed cautious optimism that existing vaccines could be effective at preventing serious disease from the Omicron variant and said it is unlikely to result in a reboot of the pandemic.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Prof Sir Andrew Pollard said:
If you look at where most of the mutations are, they are similar to regions of the spike protein that have been seen with other variants so far and that tells you that despite mutations existing in other variants, the vaccines have continued to prevent very severe disease as we’ve moved through Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta.
At least from a speculative point of view we have some optimism that the vaccine should still work against this variant for severe disease but really we need to wait several weeks to have that confirmed.
But it is extremely unlikely that a reboot of a pandemic in a vaccinated population like we saw last year is going to happen
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59442141
Asked whether people should be fearful of the new variant, Prof Semple - who sits on the UK government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies - told BBC Breakfast: "This is not a disaster, and the headlines from some of my colleagues saying 'this is horrendous' I think are hugely overstating the situation.
"Immunity from the vaccination is still likely to protect you from severe disease. You might get a snuffle or a headache or a filthy cold but your chance of coming into hospital or intensive care or sadly dying are greatly diminished by the vaccine and still will be going into the future."
£25k down but I can wait till next March. Nit selling a bean for the overreaction by the markets.
We have seen markets go up from lows all the time.
Pulled out of RR y'day luckily.
I now have £30k. I will be adding in multiple tranches to bring my avg down.
I'm hopeful that situation will be different by March.
Just 41% of South African adults have been vaccinated - and the number of jabs being administered a day is relatively low at under 130,000.
News is already priced in otherwise why would we go down from 60s to here this week. Just remove the stop losses.
Nice job reaching out to IR Mountainous.
CINE IR is doing a great job in assuring investors. There is no news to issue any RNS as they might be questioned but they can and should respond to investors queries and they are confirming it is all to do with the wider market concerns.
Bloody de-rampers can't take anything positive about CINE.
Like Kick said, there will be lot disappointed when CINE goes back. It went up many times and it will go up again. De-rampers can write all they want to try the catch bottom.
There are too many watching for a bounce.
When CINE starts moving, it will be in the top 5 risers list like it was just 2 weeks back when the RNS was released. It is just a matter of time when it will go up and not if it would. Let Pogo stick and his admirers have their day. We had our turn until last week. Let them rejoice this week. Our turn comes next. Night follows the day and so on.
All we need to do is just keep accumulating.
Not sold a single bean and will not sell any until I make a profit. CINE at bargain basement level.
Pogo you didn't watch a single court session that was broadcasted LIVE.
We have seen the court case live every single day and we know what the outcome could be.
Even the most bearish posters here during the LIVE court session concluded that the worst case scenario, damages could be lower 2 digit numbers.
Keep spreading the FUD every day but many can see what you are upto. It is getting boring.
CINE fundamentals have not changed. Business is continuing still as usual like in in September/October when SP hit 70s and 80s. It is BAU because US and UK markets are the main business regions for CINE and these 2 regions don't have lockdowns.
Also remember that there was a directors purchase at 98p in April and they are still holding.
Big fund Jhango is holding.
Mook'ys own holdings avg is above 100p and they are holding
They are not worried like some here want us to be worried about.
Trolls want to dampen the sentiment. Like someone said this morning, the drop is not related to the reality rather to do with the sentiment. It is all about what IFs but remember that CINE was closed for 6 months but later SP went up to 120p. Even at that time, we had doom and gloom posters. Many listened to the similar doom and gloom posters last year and sold out early but SP went up more than 100% from 50s to 122p! The same will happen again. Filter is your best option to avoid the trolls. You can easily see who you need to filter.
It is all about the sentiment. Fundamentally, nothing changed CINE is just carrying on with the business every day serving the customers worldwide. Thanks giving day could be jam packed in US.
Polygon actually are very good at valuing the business. They have reduced their shorts 2 weeks back shows how undervalued is CINE. They bought massively in another company that has a covid product so they know how covid can impact businesses. The fact that they have closed their shorts just 2 weeks back in CINE means that they realized that CINE is out of the woods. Proof is US and UK markets for CINE are doing really well despite cases!!!
Just filter this person.
He will ramp when he is in and other way when sold out.
Big shorts are reducing. Polygon gone completely just 2 weeks back. 2 other shorts reduced too.
Barclays reiterated their 115p rating on Friday last week. Just Google it you will see.
CEO said Q4 will be the best quarter. Already turned cash flow positive and December, which is a week away will be another bigger month due to big movies like Spiderman & Matrix yet PIs ignore and listen only to the FUD.
CINE IR confirmed that drop is sector related but as usual PIs overreact.
Bloody travel sector is hit the most with covid and they are not down as much as CINE!!! Our cinemas are in US and UK and the cinemas are fully open with busy crowd and tills ringing loud. Proof? October best month with CINE turned cash flow positive.
So don't listen to the FUD being spread around and just hold.
Mooky announced a bonus scheme when the share price hits 190p. Why will they seek for shareholder approval for the bonus if they don't believe share price reaches 190p?
2022 is just one month and one week away. We have 2 yrs worth of blockbuster movies getting released in next 12 months. That is massive!!!
What the ****...FCA are not bothered about those manipulating the share prices but you think they will catch you for your post?
Mooky's family hold 20% of th company and they have triple digit avg with millions invested. They are holding. So are the other big funds. They are not panic selling atleast.
