Proposed Directors of Tirupati Graphite explain why they have requisitioned an GM. Watch the video here.
Wouldn't surprise me if they decided to be more vague in general following the recent mess. In this particular case, it's not really up to Starcom, it's up to the UN when to announce.
Ahhh, but can he deliver a powerpoint presentation?
Just goes to show the importance of being vague. If they hadn't said they expected to break even in the first place, we'd probably just have seen a slow and steady rise. None of the issues sounded like anything to worry about really, but I hope it doesn't impact their ability to raise cash when the need it.
Starcom do business in a lot of different countries using a variety of different currencies. For example, if they sell an item to Russia for x roubles, they will recieve payment 30/60/90 days later (or longer, depends on the contract) and in that time the exchange rate between the dollar and the rouble will have moved, so the amount they actually receive in dollars will be different than it was when the transaction was agreed. If that debt is outstanding at the reporting date, it will have to be accounted for as an exchange rate difference. It's a real gain or loss, but not really under the companies control unless they pay to hedge currency risk, which they don't want to do. So they report the two numbers seperately. If they only did business with one other country we could estimate the impact, but my understanding is that they do business with enough countries to make that exercise hideously complicated. If they get bigger I would expect them to start hedging, but at the moment cash flow is at a premium.
I think it's from October, they update annually. We probably won't get another update until next October unless they IPO before then.
Not quite, it's diabetic boots..... Which is probably not going to make us rich to be honest!
I don't think Yooya is really comparable, my understanding (I could be wrong!) is that it acts more as an intermediary between advertisers and the video platforms like iQiyi, to try to help those platforms monetise. So it doesn't have subscribers as such. High numbers for all those platforms should be good for Yooya, although I don't know who their competitors might be, or how large their penetration is within those video platforms. Last I heard they had about 3 billion views per month, which sounds promising to me.
I think the other problem is the next OFWAT review, which is expected to cut water bills. I think Pennon still looks a decent buy at this price, though.
If that's accurate.... Centrica are trading at a p/e of about 5.5, with a dividend yield of nearly 10%? Obviously the cash flow & debt position will be important, but still....
Short term share price movements don't really matter though. If one of the investments hits the big time, we make a lot of money. Otherwise, we don't. Pretty straightforward.
Do short term share price movements really matter here? If one or more of the companies in the portfolio takes off, the shares will be worth a lot. If not, nothing much happens.
Lorne was replaced by new guy Ed McDermott at the last minute, who seemed very nervous. I don't think anything interesting came out of it.
