Based on history, it may be the cause of a brief spike as speculators try to exploit the news.
They're getting smaller and briefer though.
I'll be watching, but am happy to get in and out quickly for any small profit, if I think I can.

In attaching a value to my BP trades I have not really revealed anything:-

I have already posted here that I retired in 2014, at 54, 2 years before I could touch my pensions and twelve before my state pension.
I failed at that and started a new business which I sold two years later and retired again.
Anyone with half a brain would know that I'd need a sum above a million to have been able to do that and protect my future.
It's really not news and it's far from rocket science.
But please continue making me chortle.

BP is under pressure to sever its ties with Rosneft over the Russian energy group’s central role providing fuel to Vladimir Putin’s armed forces, which are engaged in a bloody assault on Ukraine.
Rosneft, in which UK-listed BP holds a 19.75 per cent stake, is one of the country’s largest crude oil producers and a main supplier of fuel to the Russian military.
UK business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng summoned Bernard Looney, chief executive of BP, to a crisis meeting on Friday as the company faces calls from opposition MPs to divest its stake in Rosneft.

The speed and events surrounding that might make it a more attractive punt than presently.
Otherwise the red flags may be even larger.
Difficult to say and I'm certainly not qualified.
I only see it as a 'punt' for a quick trade.

For holding, it's a 95% dead duck for me, still with a 5% likelihood of a potential turnaround.
100% potential for profitable trading though, with the caveat that it would depend on predicting some kind of trigger (which I missed on each of the previous two occasions).

Always have a quiet chuckle whenever I see someone refer to me as a "fantasy Trader" or some such.

Interesting article in today's Telegraph about MP's remuneration and how much they're actually paid.
Their pensions are on the books as being around 13% public purse contributions of their salaries - that is, paid from your taxes [I don't pay income related taxes].
But the 2022 accounts will show they're actually receiving 55% of salary.
This is just another reason I decided to set my income sources up so I never have to play the game, "Taxation" again.

If you think this is bad, spare a thought for Scottish tax payers, who are required to contribute 62% of Scottish MP's salaries.
This is likely to start gaining traction viewed against the awful job these parasites have been, and are, doing for us UK voters.

Along with the idiotic 'Soundbite' Swampy vote, the next election will be a very different beast to anything we've seen before.
