I don't see why that should be.
We only lose money when we crystallise a trade.
I buy at different prices all the time and all my buys were for more than the price is currently.
I sit on them until I can get profit.
Rather not as the longer I do the longer my capital is tied up and not making profit.

The SP goes up, and goes down.
Currently it's down but it's been up a lot too and will be again.
We judge whether it's worth buying/selling at the new price.
I'm over-exposed at the current level so I'm sitting on it.
I don't believe the business will fail so I'm happy to do that in the belief that the price will rise again.
Maybe not tomorrow, or next week.
When it does that sufficiently for me to sell at a profit again, I shall.

I do this, safe in the knowledge that less than 50% of the profits I have already made from trading UKOG over the last three years has paid for all of my current holding.
Even if it goes bust tomorrow, I'll still walk away in profit.
That's not to say I'd be happy about it and I'd still rather not see my current holding vanish into thin air.
It's still all wealth.

Yep; I have five main shares I trade (most of my portfolio is long-term investment for steady but lower returns.
Eighteen months ago I was able to buy and sell each of them at least once per day, for at least 5% profit per day.
At the moment I'm lucky if I'm able to get 5% total on any of them in a week.
The margin on UKOG buy/sell for the last few weeks makes trading it far too risky for me.

To be fair, not "total".
It has in fact been highly rewarding already, but not necessarily for LTH's (yet).
Trading has all but dried up recently though, as margins and turnarounds have dwindled.
I've had to look elsewhere lately and am just sitting on all of my holding for now.

Even though I keep banging on about (and get criticised for) how much profit is available for traders, I still have a significant LTH for the precisely same reasons as other LTH's.
Knowing what I know after two and I half years would I still keep half my investment back for LTH? No.
That was a mistake in hindsight.
But Hindsight's only useful two minutes after you needed it.
Hoping UKOG will still make up for it soon.

I haven't traded anything in the last two weeks, Petey.
UKOG or otherwise.
I did sell some PRSM shares I had about three weeks ago though.
I can't trade those as quickly or often as UKOG and I've had to sit on them for a while now.
But 30% made it all worthwhile.
Got into them at £7.00 and traded them all the way up to around £26.00.
600% return in about a year was fun.
This year I've only had about 200% from them.

As a matter of interest, I offer assistance (not really advice) on achieving FIRE.
I achieved it eight years ago, before I'd even heard of it, when I was fifty one.
I'm guessing by your continual childish ramps that you're nowhere near and are counting on UKOG to get you out of a sizeable hole.
Good luck with that.

If the govt has a large majority and runs full term, should the city stop a whole year in advance?
Would they just not announce major news that could benefit their share price?
Might they also choose to delay announcing profits/losses?

I believe that, as with many others, you may have been misled by conversation imparted to you, Frank.
That's one of my concerns with the management.
The more they do it the less overall credibility they will have.
Having said that I still think there are rewards to be had and we will see some soon enough.
I just don't necessarily listen to what SS wants to tell us, when he wants to tell it.
