RE: do not invest here before ...26 Mar 2021 10:03
Lol.
Yep, and that was my exact view before I invested in UKOG.
AIM is still extremely risky and I still think the odds are still against making a profit.
But, because of that, there are also some opportunities for big returns.
Squeaky's post, and mine supporting it, did not extoll AIM investing as the best way to grow wealth.
Any investing by its' nature comes with risk, or its' a scam.
No-one should invest and think they are guaranteed to profit.
It's only possible.
As is making a loss.
I make a regular [good] profits from my investments and am able to live on those.
Even so, I lost an ETF of £30,000 a year ago (only £12,000 after previous profits/compensation taken out, but £30k is what was left invested in it).
That's my biggest loss, even after leaving £50k invested here after it started to slide (I would've been 3/4 down but mitigated that from trading over the last two years and got out completely in January).
Previously I'd profited massively from UKOG by accepting the greater risk/reward I believed it offered with £1,000 I thought I could afford to lose, as an experiment.
I was very fortunate that my portfolio had grown to a level which allowed me to try that.
:)
