1. Yes.
2. I have done, but have sold many more times than that for profit and on those two occasions I made up for it by selling so I could invest that capital elsewhere.
3. No. I have 'traded' and LTH'd here. The only time I was ever 'down' was as an LTH, but then traded those 'losses' back up, although it took me a lot longer than it did making the original profits as a 'trader' to leave here as an LTH.
As you are not aware I will re-post, although doing so offends some (who like to call me a bragger or liar, because apparently the two are not mutually exclusive to them).
I am an LTH by nature.
I bought in at the start of the 11p spike, by pure fluke.
I sold at 10.2p for approx 300% profit.
Then I wondered if I could turn that into a successful strategy.
As an experiment I took £1000 from my portfolio and "traded" it up to over £100k in eighteen months.
At that point I realised the amount of money I was [essentially] playing with and chickened out.
I banked £50k by putting it back into my main portfolio and left £50k here as an LTH.
At that time I had a different view of UKOG and was more positive about its' outlook.
Of the £50k (remembering that this was profit and therefore I was only risking money I didn't have before), I bought in £10k tranches at 0.9p; 0.8p; 0.7p; 0.6p; and 0.5p.
It took me that long to wake up and realise what was happening.
Then I went back to trading it to get my investment back up to £50k and I withdrew the last of it in January.
I have continued trading smaller amounts when I felt there was a good opportunity (of which there are occasionally some).
The most I risk now is £1k at a time and target 10% profits, so really not a serious investor here any longer.
More just for fun.
Even if I thought this ever stood any chance of going back to 11p, I would not invest more than £1,000.
For my particular circumstances the risk is not worth it.
As you asked, I have treated your request with respect and responded accordingly and as honestly as I could (I did not provide exact figures, but the overall effect is correct).
I hope you will respect this and hold that we can have different views without resorting to some of the childish reactions I sometimes get when I post this (I have no doubt that you will see some it shortly).
I have posted this same information since first posting here, updating when necessary, to inform those who have only considered being an LTH as an alternative.
Not suggesting that it would work for everyone and, plainly, it's not working quite as well for me any longer.
I have not posted, as some have intimated, to deceive or boast.
