The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Who is 'they'?
Whatever they are paying him. It's too much.
We had a rise like this the Thursday 2 weeks ago too. Not clear yet if this is something different or price just moving up as the traders settle in for the end of the week/Monday.
Not small buys right now.
Same pattern as the last couple of weeks or something more?
I was certainly expecting to be back up today as traders build positions for the weekend.
Thinks about it. We have 1000's of cubic miles of rock, mud and sand and they put one well in Itumbula and found Helium concentrations at 4.7%. They could put another well 100m down the lane and find more or less but seriously - proving the hypothesis with one hit like that. The odds against it are staggering - unless of course there is a massive find here and you could hit it multiple times - you just drill and there it is..... The license alone is now huge.
Jut need them to release information about the flow and estimate the size of it. It's very hard to imagine its a fluke. If it flows to surface you can put it in a can.
RNS - 'The well produced a continuous measurement of helium gas across the micro-GC and this consistent helium gas measurement was repeated during hole opening operations in preparation for running casing.'.
There was gas coming out the hole. I'll step back from declaring a version of the facts on whether it was 'free flowing' because I do think overall the RNS can be interpreted in a number of ways. Joe is right that it does say RC was used and this was a factor for sure but it also seems to suggest that gas continued to flow when the reopened the hole for casing. So to me it is both in solution and free gas. But an RNS providing more detail will be great.
Apples and pears. Noble do not have flowing gas to surface. They have done a couple of wells that are best suited as initial exploratory wells requiring further wells. HE1 drilled into the target hypothesis directly and have a well that could be productive all by itself. Not saying no work to do or that more drilling won't ultimately be requied or getting a JV is easy but you cannot compare the 2 right now.
HE1 is a more attractive proposition today. Granted this does not mean a JV/partnership is certain.
Wyndrum. Exactamundo. Nobody ever says that the mm's are manipulating the sp upwards when it goes up.
Not the point I was making but.... All investing is speculative - relatively. This stock is currently less speculative than it was before HE1 confirmed a helium and hydrogen discovery at Itumbula. That is why the support for the sp is stronger than it was. Doesnt mean it doesnt move - that's down to market forces, but the value in the company is now considered de risked compared to when we were all waiting to find out if the drill would find any helium at all.
Yes of course I work for the evil mm's. Which by the way is basically computer software nowadays. But yes I'm in cahoots with the bullying mm computer software.
Understanding how the market operates, as imperfect as it is, is fundamental to having any chance of success in investing beyond just luck. mm's do not manipulate the market.
My point is that a lot of PI's see mm's as some sort of an evil in the world when in fact none of that is happening at all. They cannot drive down the price. Punters drive down the price. That's the market.
So how do the mm's do this exactly? How does the market work in a way that allows mm's to dictate what price punters buy and sell at? How do they push it down.
When you buy do you want to pay more?
When you sell do you want to sell for less or more?
'MM bullies'. How does that work exactly? Agree about holding.
I think the issue for you Tiger might be that you just don't understand what's going on?
They haven't been proven anything. Same pattern every week since the last RNS. SP drifts a bit lower first part of the week and then lifts up Thurs/Fri. This also happened the week we had no video from LB to cheer things up.
The SP is very well supported with huge interest from the market at these levels. Chill.
Jersey. Post of the week.
Be patient. I find it takes practice and it's something we have to learn.
Why is it so surprising that the SP hasnt gone up? When you buy shares - do you want to pay more or less for them?
SP is not about how many buys there are. Punters are buying the shares at a price they are happy with and those shares are available at that price because there are also punters prepared to sell at this price (within the spread). That's 'a market'.
If the mm's try to move the ask up and nobody wants to buy them what do you think they have to do? They have to drop it. This is called 'making a market'. That's what mm's do.
You need liquidity to dry up and then the mm's will adjust the spread accordingly.
Todays entry for this weeks 'this aged well' competition.
Imagine if life was uncertain but we had to make decisions anyway.......
