By the way, I never said it was just about the courtcase, stop fibbing. Spead betting industry is on a countdown, best thing the FCA ever did was making the new ESMA rulings, that did the trick. All we need now is another stand up case of proof that someone was rinsed and its lights out for the indusrty, all it needs is a real whistle blower, someone who has been around for years and has played them at their own game, sell their soul to the media to let the world know just how bad this spread betting malarky really is and that its a rigged game a BOOOOOM lights out at IG and then the rest will follow.

If that event I have highlighted transpires my guesstimate is a 200p share price here followed shortly after by administration and you know what, I cant help but feel that that day is inching ever closer.....

Ohh Err Mrs, seems like poor old IG got another spanking today.

Like I say, this industry has PPI written all over it. If theyve rinsed once, theyve rinsed a million times....makes me wonder when all those that believe they may have been rinsed will start cropping up out of the woodwork. Maybe it shoud be in a column in all the daily rags, "have you been rinsed by a spread betting outfit, dial 0800 RINSED now"

I wonder how many are talking to solicitors up and down the country regarding this matter currently? IMHO they did themselves no favours by either settling of paying hush monies to Mr Quinn, lets face it, that can only be whats happened as all of a sudden it went quiet as if nothing had ever happened. For me this will be the industries downfall, especially if there can be another complainant coming forward with some beyond reasonable doubt proof that the spread betting companies clearly aim to "rinse" their clients either directly or indirectly.

I was thinking of buying in if this flirted with 700p, thankfully I was busy on the days it got close and now I dont think I would touch this stock with matts or steves.....

The icing on the cake is the CEO has stepped down suddenly, that to me stinks and is a sure fire sign to give this a wide berth. Hopefully a few listened to me and sold or went short the stock and did not listen to the likes of mattt the "brave" or steve grass trying to say there was loads of room to run up in the price, yeah right lads )

Could we see sub 500p here over the coming weeks? Sping time is going to see not only revenues decrease massively IMHO but profits will more likely half as the mug punters have all been rinsed and the industry cant rinse what aint there to rinse..

I think Peter knows this hence the step down, either that or word of the PPI equivalent really is coming to a spread bet house near you soon.

Whats more bizzare is that massive buy the other day, perhaps disguised by a friendly MM as a sell and could well have even been Peter off loading a chunk?

If I were running IG, I would start laying people off as there is no way with the decline in customers and onboarding will they be able to sustain the wages for over 1100 people in the London office alone, time for job seekers for them as who would want to employ a "rinser"?

its all very well making assumptions PC01 (i have been assuming SLE were going to trading above a pound at least for years) if this if that, maybe then etc, the fcat of the matter is that San Leon already has a current MC of circa $150m thats already 6x cash, quite generous in fairness, as after 8 long years the lepricorns have yet to come good on their promises...

Im sure our resident stooge will have a differing view to mine and once he has changed from his army fatigues into his scarlet gown and wig I am sure he will give us all a cracking barrack room rendition on the investment case of the basket case that has been and is San Leon.

As any astute investor will know, a good company is often reflected in its share price and vice a versa and all grown ups realise that an anonymous poster holds little bearing or weight to a badly run companies ultimate share price because you know, in the real world any company worth its salt that is trading way below its intinsic would get snapped up, and like our Chinese (sorry racist there slur eh alaric) they were not interested and walked.

Still you never know, we could reach the heady heights of 45p as PCO1 excitedly states....

good post redeye. its quite clear to me that San Leon do not actually wish a higher share price, their inactions and lack of communication paltry at best, yet their bad news RNSs are simply brilliant, they were almost proud to announce they have another court registered against them, now I know why....

The whole system is bent if you ask me, not sure how much longer i will be prepared to wait for the Irish to come good on their promises...

alaric, all that is missing from your list is that a company stooge is over the moon with the latest news that there wont be a dividend after all (oddly enough this was predicted long ago so no surprises there) so no dividend, no revenue from direct or indirect interests in our oil fields, but hey, dont worry folks we got the loan note repayments that we are owed!

I believe a lot of people were attracted at the thought of a rather large AIM oiler divi, yet in true SLE style the narrative changes at the last minute and their good little loyal soldier is beside himself with joy.

Jolly good, at least OF has made someone happy, afer all, without the dividend SLE has so much going for it now hasnt it?

Basically, what I am alluding to is this, for any LTH to be comfortable or happy with the current situation here in SLE land (including the current share price) would need to be missing a part of their cerebral matter at a minimum. Even those new investors that thought they were fortunate enough to buy in after the 100/1 are currently down over 70%, I mean whats to be cheerful about?

Being positive is one thing but being happy with the situation the last 4 years, are you for real? If you have not already figure, I am not an SLE or anyones sycophant.

The facts of the matter are simple, SLE has been (to date) an absolute mare of an investment and eventually even the most steadfast investor gets a gutful and clearly the market for whatever reason has had a gutful too and all the while the SLE payroll continues as do the fillips to Tosca, by this I mean why were private investors not given a chance to participate in the last placing? has Tosca not got enough shares already?

Its actually like the management do not give one iota about private investors and thats what is starting to get my back up.

So as not to distract from the main body of my previous post, why does Tosca continue to sit back and do nothing apart from keep buying ever cheaper shares and increasing his holding? Like I said this is not his usual MO.

I have been looking at some companies which have had some pretty large swings in share price and oddly enough the above mentioned companies all seem to have been noted (at the time) on short tracker as having an interest in the said companies.

Perhaps just a coincidence, perhaps not....

I will try to investigate any link with these companies in more detail and report my findings (if any) in due course.

Still would really like an RNS from the company regarding Peter Quinn and that court case, it may steady my nerves enough to actually buy IGG shares should they dip to 700p this week...

Hello everybody.

I am looking for a reasonably low risk stable pharma to add to my modest portfolio.

Of my current limited research, Hikma seems to tick that box, however, there are a few questions. I cannot fathom why the share price went from 2300 to 800 in less than a year and then from 800 back to over 2000 in less than 5 months.

I have looked back through the RNSs and cannot see any share consolidation or placing so am baffled as to why a fairly stable pharma such as Hikma could have lost over 70% in one year for no apparent reason and then gain almost 160% in less than six months, again for no apparent reason.

The volitilty equates to some 230% of price fluctuations on an otherwise stable decently run company and to the likes which I have never witnessed on any other pharma company, unless of course there were an absolutely dire drug failure or multiple deaths in one of its drug trials. Again, neither of which seems to be the case here.

In fact the rise from 800 actually started after the company reporting a huge loss in their trading update back in March this year, which came to some 800m....hopefully someone can shed some light on this and allay my fears on investing in Hikma or not.

I recall reading a while back that bluerill was going to write an epic on the all seeing all knowing Tosca, aka Martin (the Rottweiler) Hughes.

Is this still the case? It would be nice if so, as from my perspective, the Tosca affiliation with the never ending money pit San Leon continues to perplex me somewhat, actually it is starting to unsettle me!

Almost 300m he has chucked at this company thus far I believe and apart from the odd fillip thrown to him by San Leon, my grey matter struggles to comprehend why he has not hoisted OF and sundry from the company.

Can anyone provide any rationale to Toscas current stance with putting up with the seemingly never ending legal battles and never ending lack of results.

Therefore I am totally nonplussed as to the current standpoint held by Tosca. Is it maybe that Tosca is content with receiving a decent return on what in theory was a loan to SLE? Or is it more sinister now that his current average is now so low due to the constant placings that worst come to worse he buys the company on the cheap and then offloads to some Chinese consortium for a handsome profit, either scenario holds little hope of us LTHs reaping the supposed rewards.

I guess fortune favours the brave here, trouble is, most of us have already lost a fortune and if im to be totally honest with myself, I could have chose pretty much any O&G company the last 4 years and actually earnt a tidy sum by now. Unfortunately 4 years on from my initial investment here and I still bare a substantial loss unless I get brave enough to average down, but like some of the nay sayers here correctly state, you could have been averaging down for the last 4 years and still be out of pocket!

What a dilemma to have.

Not long to see what happens to the ST winding up threats, hopefully nothing and we can move on back up to a decent level!

some huge purchases today, one purchase alone totalled over 5m pounds, so I guess someone is buying, that said someone is also selling and maybe its just a gentle transfer to another "friendly" insti so as to keep the ship steady.

Spring time 2019 trading update will make this tank hard, thats providing the PPI equivalent does not kick off in the murky world of spread betting before then. In fact, I dont believe even the next update is going to be good as there has not been enough volitility over the summer as with previous years, its been more like a free for all!

Surely if Peter Quinn either won his case or was paid hush money by IG Index, is that not the same as IG admitting to rinsing him? if so can this also not be construed as premeditated organised robbery? If as Mr Quinn claimed IG traders went after him and rinsed him, surely then by definition its no different than a gang of criminals not only planning in advance to steal someones money but actually going on to perpetrate it!

As I keep saying, I would not be surprised if a few more Mr Quinns come out of the woodwork in the not to distant, perhaps they are even putting their cases together as I type.....god only knows what will happen if it should come to light that someone out there has far more on IG than Mr Quinn ever had.

what if we end up receiving money for first oil from our 4.5% NPI in Barry before we receive a penny from our 9.7% in OML 18...

Hopefully it stays as a thought and does not come to fruitition.

I must admit everything that could go wrong with this company has, it just seems to be one event after another, SLE seem brilliant at attracting court cases yet horrendous at anything oil and gas related and if and when ST gets put to bed I wouldnt be at all surprised if the Morrocans have a go next!!

Luck of the Irish it certainly is not.....

Still, at least the bottom is only 23p away, some consolation I guess. What is starting to perplex me somewhat is the silence from Tosca, it really is not his MO to keep so quiet and stay in the shadows after throwing so much money at San Leon.

Can one or both of you ask around in the office to find out how much (if anything) was paid out by IG Index against the claim by Peter Quinn please, or is it industry secret so as for him to not let the cat out the bag about the goings on down at IG?

Share price slowly coming off, is this the start of the inevitable decline, or funds getting a position ahead of what may be the last set of decent profits here at IG Index?

Hi all, I seem to remember OF rehedging a % of OMLs oil at around the $55pb mark. Can anyone confirm what amount was hedged and if my price is correct as I cannot seem to find the RNS that the hedge relates to.

Not the greatest of hedges is so, as Brent trading almost 50% higher.

I am currently in the States so may not be able to respond to the answers I am looking for, so thanks in advance if someone provides these in due course.

One can only take the news blackout on the latest court case as it having gone against IG Index. I am sure that had they have come out the victor in this instince it would be headlines that yet another client loses against the mighty IG Index, the fact it has not is quite alarming, not only for investors but for the company itself!

If it is the case (I have no reason to doubt it not being) this in effect opens up a whole can of worms for not only IG Index but the spread betting world in general.

Peter Quinn claimed he was deliberately targeted by traders at IG Index and also belives they "rinsed" him.

If IG Index have agreed to pay him an out of court settlement to drop the case, in my mind they must be guilty of something or at least "knowingly" concerned.

The plot thickens in the murky world of spread betting.......I dont want to sound like Jimmy Cricket but I think "theres more"...

Good luck IGG shareholders, you may well be needing it.
