Yes lots of people can still afford to buy clothes but there will be a large chunk that won't be buying unnecessary items. We're in a recession which is going to get worse before it gets better
This is heavily shorted they don't often get it wrong you might be lucky and this spikes and you can sell before the mammoth drop

Different reports with different agendas as usual. This makes seem fairly positive.

*Halfords creates 1,000 new roles after revenue soars*
Halfords is to recruit 1,000 new mechanics to meet surging demand after it reported booming revenue.

The company said its new recruitment programme will be aimed at over-50s and retirees in a bid to bring older skilled workers back into the labour market.

The firm reported sales growth of 31% in the 6 months to September to £766 million, while pre-tax profits gew 2% to £29 million.

Graham Stapleton, Halfords CEO, says he wants to use the opportunity created by a boom in demand to rewire the company’s workforce.

“We have a big focus on people who left the workforce in recent years but are now starting to return in these tough economic times,” he said. “We want to give people the best possible route to return to work. Becoming a qualified automotive technician can be an incredibly satisfying second career.”

Mediocre results. No profit warnings and ok, profit to be a lower end but a reasonable set of results considering the environment. The 185 or whatever it was at open seemed overdone, bounced back well since.
Lets see where it goes from here.

Just going from what I have read. May's results, sales had slumped but Peel Hunt reports about a resilient top line this time though.

I agree the company are solid.
Interesting points you made there but ultimately I couldn't see them selling the studios but drumming up interest would indeed be good gor the sp.
I was looking at the current situation rsther than the strength of Itvs strong balance sheet so can see 60's but sp should be much higher
