I have parked Deeside. It will happen but i just cant see anything miraculous being announced. I would love to be wrong. However getting Italian project properly live and generating cashflow for Eqtec is another matter. For me once we get to automation is first proof of real commercial success and investors looking at Deeside might just speed up. I think it will catalyse a big step up for investment as i can only assume the reluctance of investors has been due to lack of live commercial projects. We will bring in a tidy ongoing revenue and all the support and maintenance revenues. Just need 4-5 of those and revwnues start to stackup nicely,

Lots of heavy buying at the close so bodes well for next week.

This would be massive news for eqtec investors. Would be the first commercially operating Eqtec plant making decent revenue for Eqtec and a big increase in the valuation of the Italian project. Once this project shows its strengths many more projects will have the confidence to invest. I think some investment resistance has come from the lack of real world projects. If we get the RNS its a different company investors are looking at. Throw in the mix Deeside (although almost no chance of that having really signed off) but an update on how close would be a strong tailwind. Gla

Did anyone have balls of steel to buy around .1 as i am sure most of us felt it was a crazy low and all chances of a decent rise was likely. I have plenty invested so i passed simply based on no trust in the duo who have never been transparent, managed business for their personal benefit and never offering a dividend on buyback. time will fade their history and hopefully new shareholders come in to replace the jaded historic shareholders. If we had the board this company deserves we should be 10-20p in old money even with our bad year. If we get double again in coming weeks at least some small sigh of relief we get back closer to .45 before we got suspended. how the duo basically got through all that and still we have no knew board members of merit or business changes for investor relations i have no idea. Anyway get back to IPO price and ill have some bout of amnesia about the past.

Its amazing what can happen to Harry when faced with an attractive interviewer. He was almost gushing and did he really make some comment about the difference between man and an ape :) Anyway his health looks fine i think his long face from investor webinar is a reflection on some of his dour shareholders. Nothing really new but but certainly a bit more spring in his step.

Back to tuppence in old money. A long way to go as we still trade below our reserves of cumulated profits by some margin. I have been pushing a while for board to do a share buy back and RB was apparently heading to China first time in 3 years to hopefull give the duo a good spanking. If volume is 18m today probably 60% of that is buying so maybe that is £200k so not small change. Not sure i am correct but we have been super quiet for months so looks out of place with no news. Can really only be part of buyback but they have incredible tech but any update should be positive based on the horrow show past.

Some more activity today and back to .177 so 36% rise today. Still long way to go but not aware of any news announced but its not a huge volume so could be a long way to go.

Overall in black and white looks a lot more promising with less distractions and most key points are made. Its very possible an RNS will come out if Addis meeting and London meeting go to plan. Could mean some or all of regulatory parts resolved and any fine tuning of definitive agreements resolved. If it was a couple of months as mentioned around December then March for serious progress news is possible. Signing ceremony April but all depends just how much the EG want this and how quickly. Certainly feels like progress when you read the below and perhaps more so than if you struggled through rhe webinar with shaky sound and a very tired look Harry. Gla

Bit of volume today and ticked up to .14 so while still massively under our net assets hopefully start of re-rate as bad results are built in but its speed CNEL will bounce rate to pre pandemic revenue and profits that are of interest. Still hoping board agree to buy back shares up to .5 as that would still be 50% discount to IPO. Then in 12 months, hopefully when they are back to IPO value, to do another 10-20% placing but they have the tech and the expertise and they just need to add people to the board who can present and market the company better internationally and grow business and keep a close eye on the duo and their penchant for awarding contracts to mates or proposals to buy mates businesses. That has hopefully been stopped.

The london meetings referenced in webinar was in the same paragraph as talk of finalising the definitive agreements. Many of the lawyers and executives will be in London so it could be more important than we think. For me i still want clarity on government signing off regulatory stuff as it seems what Harry can do he is and we have to hope the regulatory bits, that do not seem onerous, are completed. Bear in mind equity investors will put in money first and banks later once funds depleted so theoretically definitive agreements can be signed subject go sign off by credit team. Whats important is to get as much done while waiting on MOM so we do not get that done and then its a further wait. It does feel Harry is working in parallel to finalise this deal now. His tiredness was probably the fact he has been working 24-7 for sometime and i think he should have approached webinar differently and giving proper update and maybe just a few questions live and then writeup some of the rest. Hopefully update after London meeting if all goes to plan as we just need to get updates as final snagging list is ticked off.

If i am a glutton for punishment i might well have a skim listen again to certain parts as it but might need something stronger to get through it. There were small amount of useful scattered info haphazardly slung around but I am holding onto the London meeting being constructive and to progress the definitive agreements as i think that is in his ballpark but he also said they are speaking to ministry daily. We can only hope they are constructive conversations and if he said H1 thats probably not wrong but what we need is ministry and government signing off all their regulatory stuff and Harry saying everyone has agreed to definitive agreements. Sometimes i feel we are going backwards but i have to say having been a several deals that you are often so tired and frustrated but often it will all come together in the end.

Wow that was not exactly very polished both in the miserably bad questions posed but also the tired answers. The only nuggets i got was they had a meeting in Addis 2 weeks ago and a meeting in London next week and working through definitive agreements. Not much detail was said on the government or ministry signing off regulatory stuff except we are supposed to be top 3 project in the country and council talk about it every week and everything is a lot better than the corrupt previous Tekele. Shame he did not confirm or was asked the question correctly whether government or ministry had done what they needed to do so we can push on to credit but he reiterated he expects to close prior to end of Q1 but sadly need to take with a pinch of salt. The meeting in London could be important as that is probably where all legal people exist on this deal. He said they can acccess short-term debt so think if i read between the lines that a placing is off the table for now. Really he should have set the scene, talked through what has been going on and that would have probably answered 90% of the questions and then take some questions he has not covered. annoyed there was no voting on questions as i am sure there were many better questions that the ones he answered. he did say all questions will get answered and added to the Q&A so that should help give us some more meat.

Never thought we would hit a market cap of £23m, barely 50% of our net assets. For value investors this is now on the radar. I get it if the future looked bleak but realistically we know the projects in the pipeline of pipelines is over a billion and if you step back Eqtec is in the right place at the right time with a globally important technology. We have the MDCs that are clawing their way to the finish line to prove to the world commercially operating and profitable projects. we already have 10 years of proven technology based on university MDC but we are about to move into a different league where companies can go carbon negative with the new biochar addon. If Toyota go in on Deeside they will be able to market theit cars with a production facility that is carbon negative. While not making the direct comparison i actually remember when everyone wrote Tesla off but they rose from the ashes spectacularly and i was one of those thinking they were going to be go under at the time. Eqtec does have so many plus points but suffered from the pincer maneourvre of over optimistic financial and project completion timescales and poor control of cash in light of fast moving change in the macroeconomic landscape. We have steadied the ship and if we finally get the Italy MDC away we should be able to cash out of that project for many millions. The same for Deeeside financial close. really we have quite a few future cash out options that will happen this year but will they happen in the next few months? We have the expected cashflow that could be within the month for Deeside but it requires nerves of steel but at 50% discount to net assets a lot of the downside is factored in and really with all these assets they should be able to find short-term debt to operate until they close or finish a deal. I have plenty of skin in the game here and have topped up several times below a penny and still we continue to fall. A 1% stake will now cost you £230k instead of £2.8m just 18 months ago, how Eqtec has fallen is quite unbelieavable but the fundamentals have never been stronger.

I think with Kefi in retrospect the smart money is on waiting for news to drop and then invest, certainly note to myself in the future when faced with very high possible returns in frontier market. plenty of lessons learned. The share will rise a fair amount on the morning of the financial closure but this share will rise strongly for several weeks as i suspect some people will just be happy to exit without a loss and really the big re-rate comes as investors understand just how valuable might a bit on the morning of the news but the rise when the news comes will extend for several weeks as the market re-rates the companies prospects.

Well we have less than 2 weeks to see if we find a Deeside investor, which would be a major catalyst but we will see if rhetoric of DP bears any truth as he was quite upbeat before and when he could have changed the long-stop he did not so we can assume serious discussions were in hand. On the question of Northfork this was from the last RNS on the matter so we currently do not know what our final shareholding will be but we will be a equity holder :

"The terms also specify that the Company will remain as an equity shareholder in NFCP with the final shareholding being determined during the legal process. "

Certainly a lot of things can come together later this month or not but the market has priced in nothing because we are almost 75% down from even a penny and more like 92% from the highs of 3p. Quite a dissapointing time for Eqtec but it can rise like a phoenix if they get their act together.

One small point worth noting is that a good broker will get you close to the mid market rate. Those trades at .74 are sells and those at .76 are buys but shown at sells incorrectly. Obviously trades at .82 and .72 are just those pis stuck with a terrible brokers making their money from the wide margin. Would be a pleasant surprise if there is any update prior to monday but will hopefully clarify a lot of questions. We soldier on.

Also as a teaser the webinar is after hours on monday so if i was Harry you might want to get some decent news away on monday and then for the first time is 2 years have a slightly more upbeat webinar. Sure we still need to know timescales, if he stands by his previous webinar that he will not raise before TK financial closure and so on but if he could confirm something has happened at the government side of the equation it would surely move the story on but the to do list in the presentation does not seem very problematic, just a question of time.

not sure how you see today being a bad day as both Bid and Ask have both risen a little, placing concerns are off the table as webinar is next week and we will learn how close we really are to matters that resolve the financial closure. There is still chance to get in below .8 but we a good webinar we might start to trouble .9 very soon. If we assume closure will be Marh sometime we will probably walk back steadily back to 1.5 and await the real news of some cash being committed from investors.

While new strategy makes complete sense and means we can be part of a far larger number of projects it would in several cases make strategic sense, when opportunity arises, to take stakes in projects as the biggest gains in life of each project will be day you get planning permission and day plant is operational. Then you sell on project and pocket an equity gain on each project like a VC would. While selling technology at scale is attractive keeping a stake in projects also gives you some control over these projects to our advantage and a seat at the board to sign off bigger cheques for upgrades. Eqtec needs to make sure we have a seat at the table of all projects so our interests are looked after. Is there no one in Italy able to drive down and see if the Italy project is purring away as its a little quiet if im honest.

I think you are “fantasising” about sign off so soon. We are waiting on government to sign off and then get to credit sogno off and then to final signing ceremony. I consider government sign off and agreeing our investment in 2020-2022 as equity as key for all of us together with other government details. If we can get an RNS stating move to credit signoff that would be best RNS prior to webinar but i am hoping cash in the bank mid to late March given credit will take time and EGM timeline and given history that is probably optimistic. If we can get to credit the jobs basically done as rest is standard and then we start to motor upwards on back of a logjam of pent up historic news relating to Saudi that the shareprice has not factored in simply because TK is the key that unlocks. Hawiah for me today is worth 2-3p on its own ans plenty more to come as licenses are changing hands for big money and we have a portfolio of licenses in Saudi.
