I'm still not clear as to exactly how the buyback was meant to operate - we know certain parameters - but there may be another remit ie the buyback is intended to support the price falling below a certain level - and we've not hit that level yet? Finncap would need to purchase 500K shares a day for the next 32 days to spend the balance of funds - unlikely. I suspect the motive behind the buyback was perhaps more about a public statement that the board recognise the share price disconnect and were prepared to allocate funds to stop any further declines prior to the H1 2019 announcement where they may be able to offer further evidence that the business is now profitable, legacy free, generating free cash flow, no debt, growing, looking to introduce dividends - which should provide the stimulus we need to improve sentiment and market valuation.
