Thank you. Yes, on re-reading looks like no capital gains tax to be paid for UK holders but need to submit form 210 or risk a fine. Has anyone done that ? Sounds an arduous and possibly costly process!

I live in the UK - always have. I’ve got a SIPP in which my IAG shares were purchase in London in pounds sterling. But that link posted by riskawar seems to suggest we’re all liable for Spanish capital gains tax?!

Thank you riskawar. So basically we’ve all got to pay Spanish tax on any profits and appoint a Spanish accountant to file the paperwork? Or have I misread that?! Has anyone ever done that?! Seems odd if we’ve purchased in London for the UK flag carrier!

Actually I’ve just checked and it says the market is FTSE100. So bought on uk market. But I still had to pay Spanish tax on the dividend so possibly the Spanish taxman will tax my capital gains too?!

Thanks. I bought via Interactive Investor in my SIPP so I’d assume on London Stock Exchange? The price in my portfolio is in Sterling - whereas other foreign holdings display in foreign currencies eg US dollars. So hopefully ok?!

Hi - first time post, long time reader! I’ve got lots of IAG shares in a tax-efficient SIPP in the UK. Held for 2 years. I lost some of the dividend payment due to Spanish withholding tax. They’ve made a large capital gain and I’m keen to sell some. Will I have to pay capital gains tax in Spain on my UK SIPP-held IAG shares?! I don’t want the Spanish taxman chasing me in a couple of years! Any help much appreciated as I can’t find anything online. Thank you.
