Chaps, Someone posted this on ADVFN
From Hope1815 on ADVFN.
For investors watching Capita Plc (CPI) on August 13th, the drop in the share price over a prolonged period has now been explained. While many will probably draw different conclusions I always step back and think. In this case deep dive into the public record has uncovered that the true cause was a market misinterpretation of historical events, triggered by a significant regulatory filing failure by Capita's largest shareholder, Schroders Plc.
There is a near-identical late filing from Schroders for a completely different company, TP ICAP Group plc. This RNS showed a sale on the exact same day (July 3, 2025), for the exact same reason ("client taking control of voting responsibility" and a "system update" failure).
Given the nature of large portfolio liquidations and the systemic failure cited by Schroders, it is logical to assume there are probably one or two more similar late filings from Schroders for other companies that have been or will be released.
A fund withdrew from the Fund impacting many companies at some point, it is regular practice for one Fund to have Funds in another Fund to cover postions.
I shall state again always DYOR.
