As i said when KAT was floated, it will just be another KIBO with LC at the helm.

Can someone explain to me how the capacity market works.

-- Bordersley has conditionally prequalified for the 2022 three years ahead (T-3) Capacity Market Auction.
-- Bordersley has conditionally prequalified for the 2023 four year ahead (T-4) Capacity Market Auction.
-- This conditional prequalification and potential subsequent qualification will give the right to Bordersley to participate in the auction to win a 15-year capacity market contract.
I've checked to see who were successful in the auctions earlier this year and can't see Bordersley or Mast Energy anywhere.
Even so, these auctions are for 2022 and 2023, so how was MED ever going to produce revenue this year? and what is the 5 year PPA with Statkraft all about?
Any ideas anyone.

The problem ivans is that KIBO want to build 3 coal fired power plants in Africa, when the world, due to climate change is against building new ones. They also want to install gas fired peaking plants, when the industry is moving over to battery storage peaking plants. KIBO's management have their heads stuck firmly in the past and can't look to future. Development in this industry is moving too fast for their tiny minds. IMO KIBO could easily go bust.

One thing that can't be disputed is that KIBO is run by a bunch of F/king cowboys.

Can anyone point me to any article about the Bordesley ( or sometimes Bordersley ) peaking power plant other than from the KIBO or Mast websites, because I can't find anything. Cheers

Still nobody wants to comment on KIBO's desire to convert 100% of their energy generation projects to renewables and what effect that will have on trying to raise capital to build their first coal fired power station.
I presume it also applies to their peaker plants as well.

Who the hell is going to invest around $700 million in a mine and coal fired power station, when KIBO state they're going to transition 100% of their energy generation capacity to sustainable and affordable renewable energy generation.
Will it be in 30 years time or a lot sooner and who will pay for that?
We need clarity otherwise it's just more BS.

At long last Coetzee is beginning to see it my way. Took long enough.

But the fundamentals have changed substantially over the 8 years Coetzee has been in charge.
He used to boast KIBO had the largest mineral rights portfolio in Tanzania, including coal, gold, nickel, uranium as well as rare earths.
All gone now except the coal.
