Again its not at best 62%. The timing of the dose regimen improves it, and data is constantly being generated. I emphasize even with the lower end its better than a flu vaccine. I presume you dont ever want to take a flu vaccine then? Have a read of the scientific journals....the logistics of the astra vaccine is so much better than the Pfizer one. They all good vaccines and each has its own advantages so dont go knocking or blaming a vaccine that will end the pandemic
It has not beem tested and failed against the Brazilian virus. Your news is wrong. The Moderna and Pfizer one has data to work against the UK variant. Where is your news source?
Its the EU fault entirely. Slow approval and different contracts to the ones other countries negotiated. They were slow on the ball.
Thats incorrect, no evidence to say the Astra vaccone does not work against new strains. Its also the EUs fault for not sorting the contracts early. Also they havent approves it yet like the UK so what are they moaning about? Efficacy lot better than 62% with new dosing regimen (yet to release full data) and its already better than flu vaccine. I dont see people questioning the flu vaccine
Also if you look on the ADVFN board there was a post with a good technical analysis of Astra (theres been an ascending traingle). It has finally broken through the 76 barrier so the price should hover between 76 and 80 for a while if this breakout is confirmed over the next few days.
I doubt it will be in 90s again. I am in the warhammer hobby and I can tell you its not a Covid stock. The new lines and box sets have been flying off the shelves and will continue to do so. Next year there is also a new game on the xBox out and if the stores can open this will be even better when they can hold the big conventions and tournaments again. It has a really good online prescence and will keep growing no doubt. They habe a new app, new models, paints, booka
S and products churning out like no tomorrow. Also an animated movie on the way.
All the vaccine companies provided the data as quick as they could. The MHRA did rolling reviews of the vaccines already and you cannot speed up the results of clinical trials, which are still ongoing. Pfizer and Astra has done nothing wrong and the vaccines have been approved extremely quickly. The roll out however is different and we shall see in the next few weeks if the infrastructure, staffing and production all match
It wont be inferior once they adjust the dosong regimen. For logistics issue Astra ( and mayne Johnson and Johnson later) will be the winner no matter what. Even of the US dont use much it doesnt matter when India and the rest of the world uses it.
All drugs have side effects, look up how many people had GI bleeds with ibuprofen or aspirin and we all take it. The benefit of the vaccine far outweighs the risk as with all drugs. Statistically chances are rare as with most drugs.
Astrazenica has submitted data throughout. The MHRA is doing a rolling review the vaccine, and regulators often require more data to reach a certain point for approval. Bearing in mind the trials are still ongoing and data is constantly being generated it has just taken this long for the full set of data needed for approval.
Also the share price drop is probably due to the strengthing dollar on the back of a potential Brexit deal. Look at all the big caps like Unilever, BATs, Diageo and GSK etc dropping. The mid caps and more British exposed companies enjoying that news today
I think most people are aware its not for profit. The approvals will generate confidence in the company again and increase goodwill. Also, if this turns out to be a regular jab, they only said its not for profit during the pandemic. Whos to say it wont become a regular income generator 2 years down the line?
It does but the wider market thinks not, hence the drop from 80 recently. Though for the long term investor it will work out...a lot of people just investing for the vaccine when astra has a good pipeline.
Its held up okay considering the massive sell off this mornimg in all stocks. If rumours are true that the vaccine will get approval next week I think this can potentially go to 80? Also good news on the Tagrisso this morning which i doubt has been factored in amongst the sell off everywhere
I dont think 10 days...work in a hospital and Im sure the vaccine nor the extreme cold storage fridges are in place. Maybe nearer end of December but there are lot more normal fridges if the Astra one gets approved.
Agree, I did think it might have been better. But in the first lockdown, a lot of countries closed their manufacturing and they still have 30% of their business there. They took a hit on that for a few months but the fact that the 2nd lockdowns mpst factories and industries are open, plus the growth of the ecommerce, I expect continued growth still. Price still good I think.
