Annexing those four regions and declaring them Sovereign Russian territory, was his fatal error. Now, they have to be seen to defend them at all costs. Had he not done that, then he could have saved face by saying "our glorious work is done; we have defeated the West" and f***d off back to Russia via the side gate. Not now. He's cut himself off. Bad error that one. But then again, he has a brain slightly smaller than that of a Goldfish, so it's to be expected.

Right now (well, through to next year, to be precise) the time is to be in cash; it's much less stressful too. I wouldn't be trying to buy here (or anywhere else come to that) in this market, as who knows how much lower this is going to fall? 'Cash is King. Long live the King' :)

the question for me is "why is this company making more money"? Lots of huffing and puffing to build up a top-line but with hardly anything making it to the bottom-line. So, what are the expenses on the P&L in that marzipan level? We haven't got a prayer of seeing £6 again unless this company starts to convert its top-line into bottom-line profit. Personally, I am rather dissappointed that it is taking so long, for a tech company such as this. I suspect the people that really matter, are thinking much the same thing and remaining on the sidelines here. I have given up on my £4.20 for this year; it was ambitious, but now I feel, too much of an ask for DT. Tick Tock and so the Quarters continue to Tick on By - while we continue to Tick on Down ATB

on a more serious note (as folks' pensions are being crucified at present; mine included (not retired yet, but still)), I cannot believe how many Blue-Chips are at their lowest in their history. Marks & Spencer announces that it is closing another 60+ stores and down today alone is down by another 5%. It is 93p - by far its lowest since 1988. Saga is just 79p again by far the lowest it has ever been. It's a vicious, nasty market we're in. Just got to hope that it turns next year, at some point. ATB

No not sure many here did to be honest. It's far more broad-brushed than a 'strong dollar' thing. There are way more headwinds going on than that bobocaca. Anyway we can move on now, as those are the results.

This is why it is going to be tough for new borrowers, or those whose fixed rates are coming up for renewal soon (these will rise a lot more yet too). This from The Daily Mail this morning (cut and pasted, so it's exactly as it appears): "The jump in mortgage rates, from 1.5 per cent last autumn to 6 per cent now, will reduce the size of mortgage that buyers can afford and that lenders are willing to offer. We think that the immediate hit to buying power from higher interest rates makes a significant drop in house prices inevitable."

bobocaca yes, I'm afraid there is no way out for some. They will be paying treble in six months time as just over 4% is proving hard to get now. I can see 7% which is a whole lot more than the 1.5% that people have been enjoying. That's if you can even get anyone to lend to you of course!! If the base hits 5.5% (up from 2.25% currently, which isn't a big ask in this climate) then mortgages will come in at at least 1% more. There's your 6.5% and that's if it only hits 5.5% and the lenders are feeling generous and only marking it up by 1%! A guy I was talking to, just this morning, said to me that he was talking to a current Front Bench MP last week. The MP is a non-exec of an Investment Bank and they think that Interest Rates will rise to 6% in the next few weeks. Be interesting to see who is right! They sure as hell aint going down, that much is for sure!! (the market expects 4% by the end of 2022 and 5.5% by July 2023)

I don't personally see interest rates rising to 7.5% as anything particularly tough for people. Those that can't afford it, should not have been so greedy by over leveraging themselves in the first place (yes, maybe those in their 20's can be excused, as they have known nothing else and I do feel for them). However for the rest of us, we are quite simply by historical standards, reverting 'back to normal'. People have had it so good, that they have forgotten that the last decade has been an Interest Rate Freak Show. It has been anything but normal. Brace yourselves, as interest rates haven't even got started yet imo . . . .

I'm 100% on the same page on both counts; but I just have a gut feeling that the results will be good enough, to at least, hold us near to where we are. But yes, goodness me this share will get badly hurt, if they do not deliver to the max! It will get a proper kicking, as the market very clearly, just isn't sure about this company.

W007 it's amazing that folk are (seemingly), only just waking up to the 'headwinds' here and how they were they always going to hold this share up. Forget the war, as the big issues are here in the UK. However, I think DT is no more than maybe -25p from it's possible lowest point. The results should help but it's going to need much more than results as, let's face it, not that much changes in just one quarter! The rhetoric here has changed, at last, with a much much more realistic tone being set, which is good. What we 'hope for' is not always we 'think will happen'!! The super positive here have simply blinded themselves to reality and now, find themselves (himself!) nursing even larger losses. As a result, I would expect more people to sell in the £5's than might have been the case before; they will simply accept 'less ambitious' profits, having seen that takeovers and high share prices don't simply grow on trees. Lessons learned one hopes. ATB
