Hard to know really red. Might be struggling to place the shares at desirable price. Might be keeping their cards close to their chest before the AGM to give BHP and NCM less time to coordinate a response/strategy. Who knows. I think it's pretty par for the course now with Solgold though. At least the recent PR campaign by Sangha & co has given us clarity on who is aligned with who on the register and what current BOD plan on doing (monetizing Cascabel).

Ortherncopper, if you read this, did you get a response from Fawzi on Porvenir PEA and revised PFS for Cascabel? I didn't. Which has led me to think that we won't see them this side of 2023.

Christ bubble what has got in to you? I stated 1) the article didn't mention solg 2) that addicknt confirmed with Fawzi a while back that Cascabel isn't affected.

My understanding from the recent long piece I posted on here (an interview with the Minerals Minister I think), and that addicknt clarified with Fawzi, was that SOLG's Cascabel tenement is not on land that has the potential to be contested by indigenous communities when it comes to granting environmental and mining licenses.

I know people don't like hearing it but the political risk associated with Ecuador will be taken into account when a buyer is lining up an offer for Cascabel or a takeover of the whole company. It's why comparisons with Oz and Noront need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Darren - the DGR theory is an interesting one. They have recently been selling down - relatively aggressively - their position in ALL. Would SOLG/CGP be permitted to place the 6.7% with DGR, further strengthening the hand of the 'little guy' contingent and freeing up funds for exploration? Win win for Mather.

P.S. only once have I ever considered buying a share based upon what was written on this BB, and that was where HubrisHunter tipped up SAVE. The board is worse off without him, you could tell he knew his stuff because he could barely write in coherent English. Proper finance type.

Zoros.. kind of what I'm getting at. Until the SP jumps 10% on no news there isn't much here worth reporting on in terms of the price action. The CGP/Sangha led PR campaign is great fun and worthy of discussion. Basically confirming what many have been saying for some time and forcing the issue. But either the market is still unconvinced of something or a dark hand is holding the price down.

I dont profess to know what's going on anymore. I have a holding here just shy of 20p that I will either lose or double. Going to be a laugh regardless.

It's a free board red and you can of course post what you like. I didn't mean to be rude, but we can all dummy sell on whichever broker we use to check what prices people are really dealing at at any given moment.. As for you not being a trader.. not sure I can agree with you on that in good faith. You have traded this share plenty over the past few months, let alone years! And there's nothing wrong with that either. We are all here to make money and fingers crossed we all will, and soon.

red, give it a rest mate. We all know you're desperate for this to bounce 10% so you can sell a few hundred thousand shares, but the daily commentary on minor SP movement and "something is going on" speculation is.. exhausting.

Morning all, I don't think NM has been silent on this matter - his comments in the recent DGR Global RNS indicate he believes the best way forward for SOLG to restore shareholder value is through further exploration across the portfolio.

The company is no longer talking about production. The word isn't even mentioned in the AFR piece posted yesterday. This is the key paragraph:

"It now seems far more likely that SolGold will sell part or all of Cascabel and use the proceeds to return to its core competency; greenfields exploration."

The above appears to be what Sangha and Mather want, perhaps Irwin just wants out altogether with a sale of the whole company. I guess there is a chance we retain a small stake in Cascabel which in several years time will be a nice little earner, but it's hard to see why a buyer would want us to have a seat at the table (we're not exactly in the best shape as a company, are we!).

If Fortescue put in an offer for Cascabel, can Mike Henry really afford to let Twiggy pinch a Tier 1 asset from right under his nose? One that he cares enough about to publicly comment on how they go about raising cash, and that he has attempted to control through nefarious means over several years?

Yes BHP have other options that they've taken stakes in. But are any of them as big and promising as Cascabel, and have they invested as much time and resource into attempting to pick them up on the cheap?

The confidence on display might imply that Dbw. It's also clear to me that Sangha's preferred outcome is a sale of Cascabel:

"No one would be happier than me if we end up with a great outcome for shareholders and BHP and Newcrest end up with zero stake in Cascabel,"

What the hell was Cuzzubbo smoking. If you really want to continue proving up Cascabel fine, but why bother with the CGP merger? It does sound a lot like he was played for a fool. Either that or he knew exactly what was going to happen, took his 345 days worth of salary and his options, and bent over.

Dbw, if he pulls this off - and his track record implies he has a good shot - this will be a great outcome for shareholders. Cascabel sold, share price re-rates accordingly, with those who decide not to sell out rewarded with a special dividend. Cash in the bank to prove up the rest of the Portfolio. SOLG returns to being an explorer. Rinse and repeat.

I said earlier this company is likely to not exist in 2029 - if we follow the strategy above I very much hope it does!

Tesla, he will be right when SOLG starts producing copper and gold from its mine at Alpala. Until then, as Monte rightly pointed out the other day, he (and those who are claiming the company will be bought out) are neither right nor wrong.

I find it staggering that anyone believes this company will exist in 7 years time. We have only just about managed to scrape through 2022. We have no CEO, we haven't had a proper CFO in role for more than 6 weeks for years, and we have a load of people on the board who want the company sold.

Quady, no you haven't. You have maintained that SOLG will go it alone, find the requisite financing and build a mine at Alpala. That, by your own admission, is now not the plan, and you therefore called it wrong.

Let's see what the outcome of the strategic review brings.
