Japanese Patent Grant Confirmed

Powerhouse Energy Group Plc (AIM: PHE), a company pioneering integrated technology that converts non-recyclable waste into low carbon energy with a revenue generating engineering consulting division (Engsolve), is pleased to announce that it has been notified by the Japanese Patent Office that the Company's Japanese Patent 7577260, "Method and Apparatus for the Treatment of Waste Material", was granted on 8 November 2024.

The patent is in relation to protection around the control of the heating of the waste within the Thermal Conversion Chamber ("TCC") over several zones to allow the optimum synthesis gas (syngas) to be produced. This allows the temperature profile in the TCC to be adjusted to give the optimal syngas composition. The TCC is the main thermal chamber or kiln where the conversion of the waste feedstock to a syngas takes place.

This Japanese patent is the first PHE patent to be granted outside of the UK/Europe and is an important step for the Company. PHE continues discussions with several potential clients, from a diverse range of industries and sectors as well as geographies, each of which requires a solution for their waste and are seeking to reduce reliance on virgin fossil fuels.

PHE looks forward to progressing its other patent applications within the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

The agreement covers the period until the end of the 2028 calendar year and foresees call-offs against future projects in Europe and the US.

Not PHE but interesting development in the sector.

Swedish company Plagazi has been awarded a €29.5 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund to enhance its technology for converting waste into hydrogen.

This substantial funding will support the expansion of Plagazi's projects, aiming to scale up its innovative plasma gasification process for sustainable hydrogen production.

Earlier this year, the European Investment Bank (EIB) partnered with Plagazi to support the Köping Hydrogen Park (KHP) project in Sweden.

This project aims to produce 12,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually from 66,000 tonnes of unrecyclable waste and provide 10 MW of district heating to the local community.

United H2 Limited is pleased to see these developments, as they demonstrate that different types of hydrogen production will be required to support the future clean energy mix. United H2 Limited's diversified approach includes interests across natural, green, and waste-to-energy, hydrogen projects.

Ceres also provides a trading update, with interim results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2024 expected to be released on Friday 27 September 2024.

· Increased full year revenue guidance of £50-60 million

· Revenue for the first half is expected to be in the range £27-29 million (H1 2023: £11.7 million[1]), more than double the revenue of the prior year comparator six-month period

· Gross margins in the half year increased to around 75-80% (H1 2023: 62%1)

· Cash and short-term investments were approximately £126 million as at 30 June 2024 (31 December 2023: £140 million)

· The corresponding cash outflow of £14 million in H1 2024 represents a reduction to the cash outflow in the same period last year (H1 2023: cash outflow £21 million)

Momentum in the business is strong with today's agreement being the second major license deal and new partner signed this year following on from the manufacturing collaboration with Delta announced in January 2024.

Consequently, the Company increases its revenue guidance for the year ending 31 December 2024 to the range of £50-60 million, based on the contracts secured to date.

Yet another negative angle from Unplugged in what seems to be a very bad attempt to cast doubt and without any research / thoughts. From the trading update on 22 July.

New manufacturing licence partner and trading update

Ceres Power Holdings plc (CWR.L), a leading developer of clean energy technology, has signed a global long-term licence agreement for the manufacture of Ceres' proprietary solid oxide electrolyser cell ("SOEC") technology with a global original equipment manufacturer ("OEM") headquartered in the Asia Pacific region (the "Partner").

Highlights

· Global OEM Partner - secures another partner for Ceres with the scale, expertise and resource to manufacture advanced equipment for the growing green hydrogen sector

· Significant Revenues - the agreement provides revenues for licence fees, engineering services and hardware over multiple years, similar to the profile of previous OEM licences

· Royalty Payments - the agreement also provides for royalty payments to Ceres on future commercial production and sale of SOEC equipment to end customers by the Partner

At the Partner's request, further details are not expected to be disclosed until early August.

Hi Chrisstrat, that's an interesting connection you make there which I hadn't considered when reading the HUI RNS which came out yesterday. I copy below the comments from both CEOs when the Longford updates were issued earlier this year.
